Meet Faith Rudder | Fashion Designer / Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Faith Rudder and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Faith, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
When starting my business my thought process was to build lucrative businesses and leave a legacy of businesses to our family.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m the CEO/ Lead Designer for the Dhakmani brand. I consider myself as a Swimwear designer however I love making all types of clothing for women. I resigned from custom design jobs for individuals to focus on becoming a wholesaler to retail companies. What sets me apart from others is I believe the impossible is possible. (All things are possible to them that believe). I’m excited about our upcoming project, Designers of Los Angeles docuseries, highlighting designers in Los Angeles, Ca. I’m also excited about our upcoming fashion show collaboration with CEO Galina Cappani of GC Entertainment on Oct 16, 2022 from 3-9pm at the Bellaire Banquet Hall in North Hollywood, Ca. In 2007 I left my corporate job to pursue my career in Fashion. It was a risky thing to do, however I was ready for the challenge. I had no education in fashion, I wasted plenty of fabric and broke many needles but I taught myself how to sew garments. I participated in fashion events and I also produced yearly shows to build my brand. As a self-taught Designer it was not easy, I had no plans on how to execute the dreams and goals I wanted to obtain, it was like driving with no destination. I lost a few assets in the process and became discouraged in the fashion industry. I was ready to give up on fashion until I met my business partner /Designer Christi Anderson. Both of us were seeking a way to make a difference in the Fashion Industry with our brands. Upon meeting Christi we came up with the idea of creating the Designers of Los Angeles docuseries and brand. Designers of los Angeles organization was created to assist Designers in achieving their goals in the fashion industry.
Through this journey, the lesson I learned is to figure out what you really want to do in any field and get educated, build an effective team, create a realistic plan and then execute, What I would like the world to know about me is I love to inspire and encourage myself and others, and I believe in God.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting the area it would have to be during the Summer. The beach would be our first thing to do early in the morning. (Breakfast on the beach) lay out in the Sun and get a tan. We would skip on over to King’s Fish House for lunch on Pine in Long Beach, (one of the best local locations for Seafood). I would definitely take my friend for a few glasses of Wine at the Hollywood Park Casino and play a few games of Black Jack, and to close the night we would go for some live Reggae music on Sunday at the PCH Club (Golden Sails Hotel) in Long Beach.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First, I give thanks and praise to God for everything he has blessed me with. I’m forever grateful to my mother and late father for loving their children unconditionally and showing us what true love is, and teaching us to believe we can succeed at anything we strive for. To my children, sisters, brothers and mother-In-Law, I’m grateful for their love and support. Special thanks to my husband Tony Rudder for supporting me even when he did not understand some of the choices I made in business. I would like to give a shout out to the Designers of Los Angeles production crew who believed in the project of making a dream into a reality. David Ukpolo,Christi Anderson, Samara Shannon, Javohn Oddie, Kimikio Vaughn, Rhonda Bankston, Anthony Magee, and Kahlelah Goodine. Last but not least, I would like to give credit to Bob Proctor a Canadian self-help author and lecturer and Earl Nightingale an American radio speaker and author, dealing mostly with the subjects of human character development, motivation, and meaningful existence.
