We had the good fortune of connecting with Anthony Frisketti and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Anthony, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
i’ve always been drawn to the more creative side of things. Visual arts has always been of interest to me. You can share a feeling or emotion without saying a word.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
People have told me they can tell a photo is mine. i don’t know if that is good or bad. i definitely have a look or style, but i try to be Conscience of that and try and make sure I am also doing different things. there are a lot of photographers and working in such a niche area is very difficult, so standing out from the crowd is important. from the beginning I’ve always kind a looked at myself as a brand and marketed that way. my last name is my business name but I’ve also made it into a logo so it’s easily recognizable.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
keeping it more local a walk around the Yale campus and lunch at Pepe’s for the best pizza ever. I’m kind of a homebody so i may not be the most interesting person to visit.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Without question, the one person who really gave me an opportunity to work on my concert photography was Stevie Dacanay and Buckcherry. Stevie let me shoot their shows way WAY before I had any clue what i was doing. My ambition definitely outweighed my skill. But with his willingness to let me shoot, and his input on my photos, I was really able to developer my skills. I still shoot every Buckcherry i can make it to! Honorable mention goes to Biters! they let me do the same all around the same time period. There are definitely a lot of people on the shout out list!
