Meet Natalia Guzman | Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Natalia Guzman and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Natalia, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I was born and raised in El Salvador. Always dreamt about living in the USA. at the age of 20 years old i got the opportunity to come live here in the US. I immigrated by myself not really knowing what the future had in store for me. I thank God every day for my luck, this has been home for me since 2004. My mom is my main inspiration in life. she worked long hours every day to give me and my sisters the best in life. Her example of work ethic and responsibility has been the guide for me during my entire life and career.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Being an Aesthetic Nurse Injector has been an amazing journey. However, it is not an easy thing to do. It requires hours and hours of dedication. Practice and hours of education. I recall as a beginner injector working my full time Operating room nurse then driving 1 hour every day to go train and practice to become a better injector.
I believe that my love and dedication for what I do is what sets me apart from others. I strive every day to become better and better. The aesthetic industry is changing on a daily basis therefore it is crucial for my success that i keep up with my education and skill.
The Aesthetic industry is an amazing field to be as a nurse, but getting my masters degree in nursing while working full time was extremely difficult. the work-life- education balance was hard but it felt so great to achieve my ultimate goal. It took me a few years to accomplish my degree, but with lots of hard work and dedication i was able to do it.
The most important lesson I’ve learned along the way has been to never give up. to always work hard towards what you want because in the end it’ll all be worth it. Everything that i have accomplished in my life has required so much time, work, dedication and sacrifice but i wouldn’t change a thing. I am a better person and injector because of the challenges I’ve encountered.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
there is so much to do in Los Angeles! it is the best city to live in and visit. I’d start with a nice drive along the coast on our way to Santa Barbara for some nice wine tasting and some good food and the Santa Barbara Shellfish Co. right on the pier. I’d take her hiking to Runyon Canyon, and of course I cant forget to take her to Universal Studios, Disneyland & California Adventure. It would be an action packed week for sure.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My husband Jorge Guzman has been the biggest source of support for me. He has encouraged me since day one to become the best version of myself. He has been with me every step of the way through the ups and downs of such a demanding career. He keeps me grounded and keeps me motivated to be the best I can be.
As an Nurse injector, I am thankful for the many trainers and educators I’ve had along the way. Without all of them sharing their expertise i wouldn’t be where i am today. Specifically my mentor and friend Dr. Kian Karimi. He has taught me so much over the years and continues to encourage me to learn and become the best injector i can possibly be. His dedication to teaching and learning in the aesthetic industry inspires me every day.
