We had the good fortune of connecting with Scott Kress and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Scott, what’s one piece of conventional advice that you disagree with?
That you have to go to college to be successful. While I think school is great, and definitely right for some people, I do not think you have to go to find success. There are so many paths you can take in life and I have met so many successful people who did not attend college.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a content creator based in Los Angeles! I primarily do TikTok, but also post on Instagram and Youtube. I am definitely most proud of how far I have come on social media. I was making youtube vlogs back in high school, which was about 4 years ago, and had like 1000 subscribers. I was not growing much, but when I found out about TikTok a little before quarantine, I started posting and growing super quickly, and ended up growing to over a million followers within a few months. I wouldn’t say that it has been easy, but I also wouldn’t say that it has been hard. Ive just always enjoyed making videos :). I think one of the biggest lessons I have learned along the way is how to be patient with achieving my goals. I used to want things to happen overnight, but have realized along my social media journey that everything takes times.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
One of my favorite restaurants is Boa Steakhouse, it is amazing. I also love going on hikes so would 10/10 take them to runyon canyon. I also love going to the beach, so we would definitely spend a day relaxing at Malibu beach.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would love to give a shoutout to my parents! They have always been so supportive of everything I have done and I am so lucky to have them. I always go to them any time I need advice and they are always there to listen.
