We had the good fortune of connecting with Ariana Berry and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ariana, what do you attribute your success to?
Growing up I always imagined myself as an actor. It was a dream of mine for many years but I was never sure how I would get there. I honestly didn’t even know being an actor was truly possible for me. I struggled with my confidence and how I looked for a while, I took time to learn to love myself. Self-love has been the most important factor behind the success I have received so far in my career. I had to teach myself that I am deserving and worthy of being on tv. It wasn’t easy, a journey to loving yourself is an everyday challenge but it is the most important journey you’ll ever go on. Through inner work, and telling myself that I could book jobs no matter how distant it felt, I booked my first acting job with my management. I booked a commercial with TextNow that came out around the time of my 21st birthday this year. The work is necessary, whether it be auditioning, acting classes, understanding the industry, or even having a great headshot, but you need to feel deserving. Being authentically and confidently myself in every room I enter, and to every person I meet has blessed me with all of the amazing opportunities I have experienced in my career as an actor so far! I am grateful for all my career is today and all that it will be in the future, knowing I am limitless and that there is no ceiling to what I can become inspires me endlessly.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As an actor I have been in this industry for two years now, taking classes and learning what it takes to take on the story of a character. All of the work I have booked has been in this year alone, it has shown me the other side of being an actor which is working on a project on set. Being able to put everything I’ve learned in class into action on a set is a feeling like no other, I am immensely grateful for every job I receive. It always happens to feel magical and I love that about the entertainment industry. I share my wins with my social media accounts, I usually keep things private until they are out but when they are out, I let everyone know what it took to get there! I like to tell the truth about being an actor, it isn’t always easy and you will hear no but if you love acting, never give up! That is how everything worked out for me, I kept going even though I was hearing nothing back from every single audition for the first year, I knew I was meant for this. If you feel called to do something and it makes you happy when you even think about where you could be, do that and prove to yourself that it is possible for you because everything is. I want the world to know that I am learning every day, I love to learn, learn myself, and learn about my industry, it keeps me evolving and that is what I love. The person I was a year ago is not the person I am today and the person I am today will not be the person I am tomorrow. I am forever changing and growing and that is the beauty of my story.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting my city it would be full of vibes- it’s one of my favorite adjectives! My first stop is a morning coffee at my favorite local coffee shop/flower shop called Plantshed, it’s beautiful inside. Next, we would take the bus into the city and head to Soho for a little window shopping at the many designer stores in the area, Louis Vuitton and Rick Owens are some of my favorites. After that we are heading to check out a couple of art galleries, lumas gallery is a vibe and there are a few others to see on the same street 474 W Broadway, New York, NY. Then it’s back to jersey for that day where we’d have dinner at one of my favorite Thai food spots in my town called Chatkaew. We could end the day with a walk by the water and a view of Nyc in Weehhakwen which is about 20 minutes from my town.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My mom and grandma have been so supportive in my journey, they believe in me daily and give me the words of affirmation that give me confidence when I can’t find it on my own. They are the reason I took the time to take my acting career seriously because they told me that I could do it. Those words seem small but they mean so much. When it comes to understanding the business of acting and learning how to succeed in this industry, my gratitude goes to Wendy Alane Wright and the Hollywoods Winner Circle. HWC taught me the exact steps necessary to be a working actor and provided me with a coach that taught me the craft and beauty of acting. I am so grateful for Wendy, she is the reason I know what it takes to be a working actor today. The support of my family and friends, my chosen family, has really been the most loving and grounding part of this whole journey. Knowing I have so many people who want to see me win always gives me a reason to feel supported in what I love to do.
