Meet Brandice Pondexter | Licensed Esthetician

We had the good fortune of connecting with Brandice Pondexter and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brandice, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind the success of 28 Skincare is really focusing on making skincare fun, simple and diverse. This is something the skincare industry lacks. Professionals in this space tend follow the trend instead of putting their own spin on it. This is where I differ and so far it’s proven to be working !

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My journey as a skincare professional is different from most . I started my brand after leaving a successful career in dental . At the time I was 28 years old and already a mom and wife .
The transition into motherhood really opened my eyes to how important Selfcare is . As mothers & wives we tend to put ourselves last because the focus goes to our family . The neglect unfortunately doesn’t only start with skincare it starts to trickle into other areas of our lives as well.
Hence when I started my brand I really wanted to place an emphasis on the importance of Selfcare and that it is not limited to just facials , getting your nails done, or going on vacations ,
Selfcare is a lifestyle and essential to your overall health and wellness . This philosophy is what separates my brand from so many others on the industry .
You have to get the 28 Skincare experience to really understand what my brand is all about !

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Oh my gosh this is hard! I mean as a Long Beach / LA native it is so hard to condense the beauty of the city into one week!
I am a foodie at heart so really getting the chance to experience the rich and diverse food of the cultures in LA would be a good time.
But keeping it simple there are so many great places to shop and eat on melrose . The Grove is always fun to just walk , shop, Sonoritas has the best land and sea burrito I have ever had.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My family and friends are my rock. The support I receive from them is truly unmatched. The importance of having a support system is critical as a business owner . I would also like to shoutout my professional organization Spa Boss Tribe. It is so important to be apart of a community of beauty professionals that not only teach you how to be success but also encourage you, motivate you and push you to be better .
Last but certainly not least I would like to shoutout the founder of Spa Boss Tribe and my coach Candace Holyfield-Parker . She has helped me to develop and scale my brand in ways that I would have never believed to be possible.
