Meet Krystal Canty | Esthetician

We had the good fortune of connecting with Krystal Canty and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Krystal, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I decided to start my own business because of my newborn! In the 10 years that I’ve been an esthetician it was always a dream of mine but I had been scared to do it. Since I went on maternity leave it clicked to me that it was only best for my family and I to begin this new chapter. I’ve always loved to make woman and men feel empowered by the way they feel when they get a treatment from me. The goal is to make them feel relaxed and beautiful by the end of their treatment because feeling good and having confidents is key!

What should our readers know about your business?
Ive been an esthetician for 10 years now and I absolutely love what I do!! With so much competition in Los Angeles, of course it wasn’t easy. I had to stand out. I remember when I first started, I was 21 and loved anti-aging treatments but most clients didn’t take me seriously because I was young and “I didn’t know” what it was like to age yet. I remember getting in my head and wondering, how the heck am I going to prove these woman wrong. Well, I had to. If I wanted the clientele, I had to be confident and let people know what they needed instead of them telling me what they wanted. It’s really helped with the success of my career. There will always be challenges but it’s really up to how WE want to overcome them, or want to overcome them. Life is about challenges and we are put on this face of earth for a reason.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well my best friend and I love food! And I definitely would make sure we go to DAMA and Bestia in Downtown LA. Best food and vibe – in my opinion. We would also make sure we go shopping at the Grove and the Topanga mall.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to shoutout my husband, Alex and baby boy, Gabriel! With all the love and support especially, my husband gives me I don’t think I could have done this alone. The push to start my own business has always been a dream and having that support just make it that much easier. With living in Los Angeles and having a new born, with no family here to help us watch him was just a bigger push to start my own business so that I could have the flexibility to make my own schedule!
