We had the good fortune of connecting with Ray Foreman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ray, how do you think about risk?
When it comes to risk taking I really think about two main things, what can I gain from this and of course what can I lose from this. you know? basically the pros and cons of taking said risk.

Risk taking has actually played a huge role in my career. I am originally from Denver, Colorado born and raised and moved to Los Angeles about seven years ago. Now before I moved I was working as a house keeper at the Four Seasons Denver and to be honest I was depressed. I wasn’t happy because I felt like I was not living up to my own exceptions and that was disappointing me. At this time I knew I wanted to be an actor/producer and be in this industry but didn’t even know where to start. Denver is not big with the acting scene, you’re not going to book movies and tv shows out there thats just how it is. After thinking about this one Sunday at work I decided to quit my job that same Sunday, go home and tell my parents I am moving to LA and by midnight that SAME night my car was packed and I was driving to California.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets me apart from others is I love being behind the camera just as much as I love being in front of the camera. Acting is my passion but I needed to find out how to get closer to sets, how to get more involved in productions. So I started out like a lot of people by being a PA. This is the lowest job on set but I what I loved about it was the things that your learn. I ended up learning how to do everyones job except the camera teams of course. the knowledge I was obtaining was what was keeping me around. now this definitely is not an easy thing and there are a ton or trails and tribulations that I went through. Sometimes you start to think is this for me? did I make the right decision by leaving home? can I actually do this? and the way I got over those mental challenges really where my friends. they would speak so much life and confidence in me, they wouldn’t allow me to give up in myself and I’m so glad I didn’t.

I would want the world to know that I live by two things really: reliability and dependability.

I always get the job done and the people in this industry that know me know that about me. I believe this is the main reason I got as far as I did, on top of being a good person!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Okay so one of my favorite places to eat is Flemings DTLA! We would definitely have to go there to get a steak and get it topped off with crab and lobster meat, I promise you its top 5 in the city! Now of course we have to go the beach, Santa Monica is my favorite between the pier and the stores ill be there all day. I am a big fan of live music so on Wednesdays usually go Mama’s Shelter with friends to see live bands like “The NME” band and also up and coming artist perform to showcase their talent.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The first person id like to shoutout is Casting Director Natasha Ward, CSA. See helped me get started in this industry and really helped me pave my own path. If not for her help I would not be here.

Next id like to thank J. Alexander Martin (creator of FUBU) and Roberto “Rush” Evans. They are the heads of the For Us By Us Network where I am a producer working on movies, tv series and reality. These gentlemen seen the potential in me and all my efforts and decided to give me a life changing opportunities at the For Us By Us Network.

And lastly I can’t forget my family and god, without them nothing I have done would be possible, so all glory to them.
