We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicholas Pratley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nicholas, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Trust your note. I believe that every single person has a note to play in the symphony we call life. Your note, or your message, can be played through you and only you. Yes your note may be similar to others but yours is still absolutely unique and therefore worth giving your all too. When I accepted that I can play my note and therefore contribute to the bigger symphony in a very powerful, impactful way, I gave everything over to the note, the message and haven’t looked back.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Breakfast: Sycamore Kitchen in Hollywood has the most incredible Buttermilk & Ricotta Pancakes served with Salted Butter. I mean I can’t even believe how good that are. Perfect way to start the day. Mid Morning: The Self Realization Centre towards the end of Sunset Blvd, Pacific Palisades. Not many people know about this spot. It was founded and dedicated by Paramahansa Yogananda, in 1950. The 10-acre property with incredible gardens, a spring-fed lake with swans, koi, turtles, and lotus flowers. Its perhaps the most peaceful place in Los Angeles. Lunch: Malibu Farm at the Malibu Pier is the perfect place for lunch with the best food, atmosphere and view for a satisfying lunch and moment to breath in the fresh air. Mid Afternoon: I looooove exploring the shops in Topanga and the Malibu Market. Always something new and interesting to find. Great people, great energy. Check out The Mindry A Sanctuary For the Mind, at the Malibu Market. And Pebbles Clothing for kids, plus the store at The Inn of the Seventh Ray, in Topanga. Evening: California has so many spectacular spots. One of the reasons, I think, we live here is because of the cost line. I would start at El Matador Beach just past Malibu. It is simply gorgeous. The walk down a stunning cliff face lands you near Elephant rock and a stunning view that is perfect for sunset. Dinner: Close by is Geoffreys which has some of the best food. Yes I love food. Ha! Desert: If you’re coming back over to Hollywood go to McConnells Ice cream. There Pistachio is the best!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
To the amazing people and communities I have served. After over 20 years facilitating mindfulness, wellness and transformation its the act of service that is the most important. Those who have trusted me, been willing to listen, who have allowed the message to come through. ALL of it has been possible because of them and I am eternally grateful for their support, for showing up and allowing me the space to get better and better for them. It’s been this exceptional relationship where we continue to feed each other both ways. Thank you for the magic everyone! Also my incredible husband Jeff has been my biggest cheerleader since I met him 13 years ago, there has never been one second of doubt, ever. Thank you my love. And my spectacular daughter Ava, who reminds me everyday the child inside truly never goes anywhere. Thank you angel. To my friends, who I consider family, who remind me of the truth, who I really am and the magic that’s always possible. We found each other! Thank you!
