Meet Diedre Curry | Professional Sh!t Talker

We had the good fortune of connecting with Diedre Curry and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Diedre, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
SheeApparel was birth out of Necessity that saved my life. After going through a very emotional divorce and sleeping on my grandfathers couch while trying to find the purpose of my life while staying strong for my daughter. I needed a space where I felt safe, a space where I can love myself the same way I gave love to others , a space where I can feel valued and not ashamed for starting over. SheeApparel Saved me. We are here to hold space for the voiceless, for the women who no longer want to play small, for the women who think their voice doesn’t matter. Our philosophy is to drive change in the way we view and see ourselves as we continue to evolve through the power of confidence, self worth and Integrity. Our mission is to create a community of resilient women evoking the notion of playing small, settling in Self doubt or shrinking yourself to make other people feel comfortable. Our Apparel was created for YOU to serve as a reminder that we See You, Hear you and Celebrate you.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I teach resilient women to redefine themself by showing up to every room and owning it( online or in person ) scale their online presence with their impact and deepen their value. I use to believe that I needed permission or approval of others in order to do something that was outside of what was consider normal. From constantly playing small when it came to who I was and what she stood for. Playing small kept her in relationships longer after they expired. Settled in jobs or business partnerships that did not serve her or align with her core values. This caused me to wait for other people to validate her before she would go after everything she wanted for herself. That person no longer lives here. Diedre advise’s women in business and brands on the importance of being Relatable, Intentional and Authentic with their Presence. I had to get out of my own way and demand that I needed more from myself. This looked like showing up for things I may have told myself I wasn’t qualified for to no longer entertaining things that did not server me in order to make other people comfortable. I want to to know that your story is YOURS .. stand in it ever single day and live your truth.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend is visiting me the first stop would my home where we start off with homemade brunch such as vegan crab cakes , shrimp and grifts , fresh waffles, fruit charcuterie board and mimosas. One brunch is over we will start off wine tasting at Zively winery which has the most amazing wine . We will also get our nails done at GLewis Nails who is God sent with the nails . We will also grab sushi at Tachido Tusushi AMAZING.. We will also make candles with Joysvelitas. And enjoys lots of amazing food.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
