The Coronavirus has given many us an opportunity to pause and think about life, our purpose, and even the right work life balance. What’s your perspective and has it changed over time?

I have always struggled with work life balance because I love to work and I love to be perceived as a hard worker. In my 20s, I was definitely a people pleaser as well as incredibly ambitious, so I had no work life balance and worked however many hours it took to get the job done. I was literally working any hours I wasn’t asleep. I have a very different outlook now! In the grand scheme of things, the extra hours didn’t matter much. I am prioritizing peace in a way I never have. Over the pandemic (and in the years just before) I began meditating regularly. In 2020, I left NYC and moved to Joshua Tree for about 6 months. I had a series of spiritual insights during that time that led me to leave my label and write my new project, “Word to the Trees.” During this time I also began exploring and questioning my attachment to manhood and came out as trans.
