Meet Amanda Mazarov | Breathwork Meditation Instructor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Amanda Mazarov and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Amanda, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
I used to think that balance was something you can get by following strict routines and productivity hacks. Week after week, I would wake up, go to the gym, work 9-5, prep healthy meals and see my friends on the weekends. From the outside looking in, it seemed like a pretty healthy, balanced lifestyle. Yet, as soon as life threw a curveball, I didn’t know how to cope, which left me feeling anxious and burnt out.
It wasn’t until I started mindfulness practices such as breathwork, meditation, and yoga that I realized I was seeing things all wrong. Balance is not a destination. It’s not something we can get.
Balance is a state of mind. It brings things into harmony. It’s an ongoing journey.
Whether your boss adds another meeting to your already busy schedule, your friend cancels plans last minute, or your car breaks down, there will always be something that’s not going your way. Life is a juggling act filled with unexpected events.
Having a balanced life isn’t about things going perfectly to plan. It’s about approaching life as a whole, letting go of control and learning to adapt to the moment. It’s less about how we allocate our time and more about enjoying what we’re doing here and now. Balance is not external. Balance lies within.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I started PranaFlo to help others discover the power of their breath. Through mindfulness practices, including Breathwork Pranayama and Meditation, we can improve the quality of our life.
That’s why I launched ‘Transform’ The Complete Breathwork Pranayama Course. I wanted to create affordable and easily accessible care to reduce stress, fatigue and burnout. For a few years, I carefully crafted every detail of the 60+ videos to create an intimate and impactful learning experience. This practice is about healing, rediscovering and reconnecting to all that you are. Seeing now that this course is changing peoples’ lives has made the journey more than worth it.
It wasn’t easy at first. I tried myself as an entrepreneur before, but things didn’t quite work out. And yet, I learned that the only way to overcome challenges is to keep pressing on. I am glad I stuck with it.
As someone who experienced anxiety and burnout, I understand how difficult and overwhelming it can be to deal with the uncertainties, pressures and demands of life. It was through Breathwork Pranayama that I learned a new way of navigating my emotions to remain centered and calm through the various stresses of life’s ups and downs. Within a few days of practicing, I felt energetic, less reactive and more joyful. I have since been rewarded with the blessings of breathwork and want to share the many benefits. Stress and burnout has been common, but it doesn’t have to be. My focus is to inspire people to find peace and balance within and to share with the world that it doesn’t take a big effort. It’s as easy as breathing.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We’d start at Zuma Beach in Malibu. It’s one of my favorite beaches in LA because you can spot dolphins. We would coast along the Santa Monica pier down to Venice beach. I would also take them to Long Beach and walk through 2nd street. For hiking, we would go to Griffith observatory to see the best views of the city and Mt. Wilson trail for beautiful mountain scenery. For a calm and relaxing time, we’d stroll through Huntington Library or the Arboretum in Arcadia. At night, I would take you to the Comedy Store and the movies.
As far as food, there is a wide variety of places where you can find what you like. I would take you to Grand Central Market to explore the variety and for tasty Filipino food, I would take you to Salo Salo in West Covina.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to shoutout all of my teachers, family, and friends for supporting me on this journey. I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for their love and care. I especially would like to dedicate this shoutout to my husband, Maxim, for always believing in me and being there every step of the way!
