Meet Pamela Yap and Allan Giron | Event Coordinator and Online Editor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Pamela Yap and Allan Giron and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Pamela and Allan, is there something you can share with us that those outside of the industry might not be aware of?
Many people outside our industry don’t consider time management an important element. Planning, creating content, and attending events are challenging since we also have full-time work positions. We make time to create our content on weekends or in between weekdays. It’s something we contend with it all the time, but we manage to persevere with scheduling and lots of communication.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Our story first started more as a hobby than anything. We would go on dates together and try out new and exciting restaurants around LA. Soon we started taking photos and sharing our experiences with our friends and family. More and more people started asking us for recommendations and it became a whole Instagram account. We realized we had a passion for sharing this content; We would provide people with tips on where to enjoy delicious meals while local businesses and eateries would get the attention and business they deserved.
We would like to say that we are well-versed in the necessary tools that make up our social media influencer brand. Allan is a film school grad, experienced in photography, videography, and post-production for both fields while Pam is a business marketing grad with tons of experience in event planning and PR. Along the way, each other’s original skillset has been traded to the other so much that Pam is now a photo pro and Allan is great with client communications. Together we’ve become quite a force that’s powerful at showcasing our love of food, giving an insight into our personal lives, and celebrating the LA Lifestyle.
It wasn’t easy getting to where we are today. We have always had a main struggle and that is balancing our business with actual 9-5 jobs. This has hindered the amount of content we would like to consistently churn out but manage it by thinking that great quality will take time and that constant progress will be kept with good communication.
We’ve learned so many things along the way but something that has made the most impact is knowing and embracing that we could be genuinely ourselves. We pride ourselves in not suffering from too much imposter syndrome and truthfully sharing the restaurants, date night spots, and products that we love.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
We would like to dedicate this shoutout to our family and friends. Without their love and support, we wouldn’t be where we are now. They inspire us to never give up.
