Meet James Riley | CO-CEO of Riley Enterprises

We had the good fortune of connecting with James Riley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi James, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my success has been developing a mindset of determination and having a strong will to become successful. Determination gave me a passion and a desire to not be average, but soar towards greatness. Having a mindset of determination has taught me to never give up especially during the hard times when business was slow for the first three years. Incorporating this trait into my life it has allowed me to not self doubt myself, but know I can achieve anything. A very important attribute to my success is having a positive attitude because allowing yourself to appreciate the small successes along with the big successes. Developing a positive mental attitude came from learning my value as a person, reading and obtaining knowledge to have more clarity. Plus leaning towards my faith allowed me to gain a positive attitude and to maintain my positive mental attitude as well. Another key factor to my success throughout the years as been to creative and be able to use my creativity to come up with quality ideas, which became the and foundation and pillars of our business today. Being creative allowed me to think outside the box to solve issues, develop strategies to be more effective, allow myself to find opportunities within any scenario with efficiency, and be a better leader by working smarter.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We own a Financial Firm called Riley Enterprises in Central Texas. We were established on May 19th 2011, we have also been in business for over 11 years, and we do business in 9 states and in 3 continents which are North America, Europe, and North Africa. What sets us apart from others in the Financial i Industry is our passion to teach our clients Financial Literacy, how to create wealth, and be engaged in every community that we are in. We have be blessed with the success that we today by having faith, being innovative, and having a strong team around us. When we first started in business it wasn’t easy and for the first 3 years we struggled, but we overcame those struggles by changing our mentalities, staying positive, and believing in ourselves. When it comes to lessons learned I have come to understand that it doesn’t matter where you start, vut how you finish. I would want the world the know that we are willing to help anyone that wants to improve financially and that there are many others that we still need teach.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take them to Austin first because there are so many things to do with do much diversity in the city. While being in the capital We would checkout some of the museums, do some shopping at the domain, and check out Zilker Park downtown. As far as restaurants I would take them to Maggiano’s which is an Italian restaurant that brings an amazing experience to anyone who eats there. For the Second part of the week long trip I would take them to San Antonio because there is so much history and fun to uncover in that area. I would first take them on a bus tour around the entire city so that they can learn and see some of the important monuments in the city. After that I would take them to see the Alamo so that they can see a piece of history up close. I would take them to the River walk next because that a primary favorite there. We would also do some shopping at the mall and enjoy some amazing Mexican cuisine.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate a shout out to my lovely wife Hillary because she is one of the pillars of our business and my life. She has been there by my side to support me, be a voice of reason, and make key decisions for our team. My Wife is a unsung hero when it comes to our business because she has been there in the trenches with me since day one. My wife has been a huge blessing for me because she is the type that can stay very organized, thinks quick, creative, and the best part is that she keeps a lot of things pristine and running smoothly.
