Meet BLWYRMND | Music Producer

We had the good fortune of connecting with BLWYRMND and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi BLWYRMND, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I made music my whole life, so starting my own business was a natural step for me. My thought process behind that was to have the freedom of working for myself and having full control over what I do with my time. I also enjoy working with like-minded people who have the same passion about music.
Do you have a budget? How do you think about your personal finances and how do you make lifestyle and spending decisions?
I have a budget, I keep an eye on my income and expenses and for my spending decisions I just go by what’s important to me and also try to think longterm to make smart decisions that will benefit me in the long run.
Risk taking: how do you think about risk, what role has taking risks played in your life/career?
I think taking risks is very important in any field, but especially in the music industry because even if you work hard and do all the right things, success is not guaranteed. So you have to find a way to stand out and that’s often connected to taking risks. In my life and my career taking risks played a big role.
I always try to step out of my comfort zone by taking calculated risks and try new things to achieve my goals. I think in general without taking risks you can’t achieve anything really great.
Where are you from and how did your background and upbringing impact who you are today?
I grew up in Austria and was very lucky to be around parents that were into music. My dad played in a band so he had a bunch of equipment at home that always made me curious about music. I started to play the guitar when I was a kid and later started making music with friends which eventually led to me making beats. I think growing up in Austria also had a big impact on my creativity, because it exposed me to different cultures, music and installed certain values in me.
What is the most important factor behind your success / the success of your brand?
I think the most important factor behind my success is my passion and my dedication to the craft. I always was motivated by my love for music and that allows me to put in the work that is required to be successful. I also try to listen to a lot of different music to get inspired and to see what trends might come up and how I can implement them in my work. Also connecting with talented people that inspire me and having a strong team helped me to take my career to new levels.
What value or principle matters most to you? Why?
Authenticity because it means for me to stay true to myself and to the vision that I have. Being authentic also means to be honest and transparent which leads to a stronger connection with people and to be authentic in a creative way allows me to have a more meaningful connection with the artists.
Work life balance: how has your balance changed over time? How do you think about the balance?
I have always put my work first, but I think it’s important to have a work-life balance now. I try to make time for the things that are important to me outside of work and to take care of my physical and mental health.
What’s the end goal? Where do you want to be professionally by the end of your career?
My end goal is to be recognized as one of the greats. I want to break artists and give them their own unique sound, I want to push boundaries in music by experimenting with new sounds and collaborating with other amazing people that inspire me. I want to be in a position where I can mentor upcoming producers and help them to achieve their dreams as well. Overall I want to be remembered to have made great music that made a difference in people’s lives and leave a strong legacy.
Why did you pursue an artistic or creative career?
Because music is my passion and I always had the desire to make something great with my life. I think music is very powerful and can make a real difference in the world. Also there is no ceiling, music has endless opportunities and can open the door for other business ventures too. And I like to work with creative people, not to have the same routine everyday and I think being a producer allows me to do that.
Tell us about a book you’ve read and why you like it / what impact it had on you.
„Atomic Habits“ by James Clear. It talks about how you can have big improvements in your life by implementing small changes in your habits. It had an impact on me because I realized that success is a result from small consistent actions and not some big breakthrough.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I would say what sets me apart is my ability to make all kinds of music on a high level and also to blend different genres that create a unique sound. My early music influences and my background growing up in Austria and living in LA also shaped my music in a very unique way and makes it stand out I think. Getting to where I am today was not easy and it took a lot of hard work and dedication and I’m very grateful that it worked out for me. I want to continue to create and inspire and hope that other people follow their dreams too and achieve them.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to the people who have supported and mentored me in my career. Everyone who gave me the guidance that helped me to grow as a music producer. I also want to dedicate it to the fans of the artists that I work with because they are the ones who listen to the music and they are the ones who allow me to continue to create. And finally to the music industry itself and everyone who works in music because they have made it possible for me to pursue my passion and achieve my goals. I am grateful for everyone who helped me along the way.
