We had the good fortune of connecting with Teresa Foss and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Teresa, what do you think makes you most happy? Why?
Happiness for me is being able to bring joy to my clients by creating a special moment where they truly feel pampered. When you feel confident in how you look, you radiate and glow. Seeing and being a part of these transformations each day is why I love what I do.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?

I am a makeup artist as well as a small-business owner. I live bi-coastal between Los Angeles and Washington D.C. where I have a team of hair stylists and makeup artists. I’ve always worked in the fashion and beauty industry but started my own business ten years ago, primarily offering wardrobe styling services.

About six years ago, I started growing my team and now have 15 talented and diverse hair and makeup artists and offer onsite beauty and wardrobe styling services.

Has this been easy? Definitely not, but with consistency and learning to wear many hats, I am proud of what I’ve built and what’s in store for the future of my brand. The last three years have been the most challenging due to the pandemic, but I am grateful we’ve not only survived, but flourished last year.

I could not have gotten where I am today without the support of amazing friends, colleagues, and clients as my business has primarily grown from referrals.

What I’d like the world to know? I’m just a lucky gal who gets to paint faces for a living, do what I love each day, provide work for some amazing artists, and bring smiles to my clients’ faces.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Oh man! Well, we’ would definitely have to do a beach day, I like Manhattan Beach myself. Love all the cute shops and restaurants there and of course the boardwalk. Some of the most gorgeous hikes and views of LA are in Griffith Park and from the Observatory. Then there’s the food…we would definitely have some tacos, margaritas and lots of happy hours! A glam night out in Beverly Hills at Avra or one of my fav restaurants in WeHo, Laurel Hardware. Finally, if I can drag her to come makeup shopping with me in the valley, it’s a day excursion! .

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have some amazing colleagues who have been incredibly supportive:
