We had the good fortune of connecting with Dillesha Davis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dillesha, putting aside the decision to work for yourself, what other decisions were critical to your success?
The single most important decision I made that contributed to my success was giving myself to God. Deciding to build a relationship with Him as well as becoming more knowledgeable of Him and His word/will for my life.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I feel something that sets me apart from others is that I genuinely put love and intention into everything that I make. Even when I just be doing stuff I put love in it. The thing i’m most proud about is that I have been able to make a lot of my items vegan and they still taste good, It’s a little challenging finding which substitute ingredients work best but trial and error. Staying consistent and open to trying new things helped me get to where I am today, not being afraid to do something I haven’t done before. Having faith that I can do it helped me overcome overthinking and getting discouraged when something was difficult or not going my way. Something I learned along the way on my journey is that my customers experience is important, so that means engaging with them, showing appreciation and resolving any concerns they have. Also resilience is key, it may be hard in the moment but seeing it through holds the greatest reward. Something I want the world to know about my story and my brand is that love is involved in everything, powered by God He is the foundation and that I want to create food and items that everyone can enjoy and not feel bad about it.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I literally just talked to my bestfriend about this so its actually going to happen soon! So Day one since she would have to travel I would probably cook food for us to chill at home in case she’s tired we watch movies, catch up, enjoy just talking to eachother that day. Day 2 we would probably go to the beach because there’s no beach near her and she misses it, not to go day by day but some places to eat out I would take her would be Smash Me Baby a vegan burger spot in Hollywood, probably the vegan exchange, the vegan playground and leimert park. another day we’d probably go see a 4D movie so she can experience it. Another day i’d show her how to cook vegan dishes, another day we would probably do something physical like go to the park or for a hike, maybe swimming. Through out all of that we’d probably meet with other friends hang out and catch up but all that in a nutshell is most likely how we’d spend the week.
