We had the good fortune of connecting with Vladimir Sarser and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Vladimir, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
Initially, I was curious about a career in finance. Years ago, I worked for financial giants like Merrill Lynch and JP. Morgan, later on I switched to the buy-side with a smaller company where I’ve learned the dynamics of the market and customer demand. In 2000, I went into real estate and spent nearly 17 years selling real estate.

In 2018, I had a chance to be a part of the car dealership business where I managed and financed customers for their car purchases. Eventually my curiosity brought me into the mortgage and finance business. I decided to stick around and founded Alianza Mortgage Company, which I currently operate.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At Alianza Mortgage, we pride our selves in maneuverability and quick adaptation to the ever-changing financial environment. We implement current and most effective technology to help us operate our business with greater flexibility; we offer an array of loan products that fit most customers’ needs.

In my opinion and experience, large mortgage brokers have a slow adaptation due to their legal processes and delayed chain of command in decision making when it comes to adding new products or lenders; they set up limitations on the type of loans and amount of the loan. Big guys follow the numbers doctrine.

My company, on the other hand, can quickly adopt changes and policies that benefit our customers and not the stockholders or top guys. We put quality of the experience and service before the quantity.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
When my friends fly to LA, I like to start by taking them up the coast to Malibu. There are beautiful beaches, and several places to hike up to the top to see the entire valley, from the red rocks to white rocks in Westlake, Queens Necklace Pacific Ocean shores spreading from Rancho Palo Verdes to Ventura County. A hiking trail a top of Yerba Buena Road is an excellent way to start the day.

Then continue to Cross Creek shopping mall. Perhaps, do a little shopping or a lot of shopping, grab a coffee at Pete’s Coffee or a quick lunch at Marmalade. Then leave the rest of the day to enjoying the sun and the ocean at Broad Beach.

In the evening I’d take them to Koreatown restaurant called Feng Mao, where they serve their forte’ the most delicious lamb skewers. A waiter will bring the skewers with belly of the lamb ready to be cooked on an individual grill that comes with each table. There are plenty of tasty items on the menu besides lamb skewers, for someone who wants to try other food.

On the next day take a ride to West Hollywood, go down iconic Sunset Strip, drive up to Mulholland Drive and follow the road to show off inspiring views of the city from a top of the hills. Slide down Coldwater Canyon into Beverly Hills, and walk down Rodeo Drive, see an exotic car show or grab a cup of coffee and enjoy the scenery at Panera Bread.

Spend the next day browsing along Ventura Blvd, visit some boutique shops, stop by Gisele Tune Clothing store and have a dinner at the Six. Drive up the Coldwater Canyon, get lost in the hills, enjoy the scenery and come back down Laurel Canyon.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My fiancé Ani was a driving force and she has been there for me through ups and downs of the journey. I’m forever grateful for her patience and perpetual desire to progress and contribute to the world, making it a better richer place to live.

One particular book that continues to inspire me is called Mr. Schmooze, The Art and Science of Selling Through Relationships by Richard Abraham. One of the quotes that I particularly love is ” This is my family, my team. We are on the planet together, right now, working, struggling, laughing, crying, every day. I love these people and I want them to know it. Every time!”
