We had the good fortune of connecting with Jordan Jimenez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jordan, what is the most important factor behind your success?
With the success of my small company, I have found that the most important factor behind it all is family and community. I have always been a person of “right here and right now,” but with owning a business that mindset can be expected some things make longer than expected. I started by myself with now workamera and a dream and since then I now work alongside my amazing friends and fiance who have backed me through out it all. We now have a company that is working throughout Los Angeles to the Inland empire. Whether it is my co-worker and dear friend Chris De Soto helping me capture moments, Nathan S making sure we all go along to the schedule and get the job done fast, or my fiance who has always helped behind the scenes with helping us gear up before any photoshoot we head out to. It is a network we have built together that started from a dream and is now our reality. It is a family business and that is the most important factor behind it all.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
With my photography, I take pride in my work because I am willing to do whatever I have to do for the perfect shot. I used to do photos that were very professional in the sense of the scenes and types of photos I took which consisted of headshots and portraits, but once I found my niche now which is car shots and sports photos I fell in love with photography all over again. When I am on a field watching action happening in front of me it is so fascinating because none of it is set up or propped a certain way it is all just raw emotion and pure energy in that small moment. Getting to where I am now takes a lot of patience and practice and continuous improvement. This art form of photography takes tons of practice because it is always being caught by the naked eye but takes a trained eye to see the small seconds before something big happens. I would say the biggest lesson being in the photo game has taught me is to be grateful for every opportunity that is given in life because your life can change within seconds of a camera shutter.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I am a huge explorer in the sense of visiting new spots in Los Angeles, but I have a list of special places I love to always go back to. I would say start off with a coffee from Ground Up Coffee which is a local small coffee shop in Whittier with great coffee and environment. After that, I would take them to Arts District in Downtown Los Angeles and just take in the art and different type of styles that people express their creativity through. Once the day comes to an end I would end up getting some tacos from a family-owned food truck named El Sapo it is so good and they get everything just right. What I always factor into a day out is being able to take my camera and just capture all that is happening around me.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There is a huge amount of love and support behind this journey and a big group of individuals who have helped me get this company to where it is now. The group I call my family has been the reason I have pushed on and always kept pushing through all the lows and highs. I would love to first off give a huge shout-out to my Grandparents and mother who have wholeheartedly supported me through this journey they have seen me grow into the person I am today and it is truly all thanks to them. Next would be my team at Jimenez Media Group which is my dear friends Chris De Soto, Nathan Sagrero, and my amazing fiance. Each person has been a huge hand in my success and is the reason I will never give up on this dream. Big special thanks to F.e.a.r. Who have always had my back when I got into sport’s photography and let me excel in what I do best.
