Meet Karina Klimtchuk | Doctor of Integrative Health and Wellness

We had the good fortune of connecting with Karina Klimtchuk and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Karina, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
Something I often say to my patients is, “Come as you are, all of you is welcome here”.
What that means is there is a complexity to being human – different parts of us that each have their own maturity levels, emotions, perceptions, needs, judgments, maladaptations, strengths and contributions — and in order to be whole we need to integrate all parts of ourselves.
Whenever we are unconscious of a part of us, or have disowned/dismembered a piece of ourselves, we are missing out on a key component of life. We are also risking that part unconsciously carrying out its agenda in ways that may surprise or even harm us and those around us.
Showing up authentically requires integrating all aspects of ourselves and that can be challenging to do alone. I know firsthand the importance of feeling seen and held when working together with an empathetic other.
This is why I deeply value creating and holding sacred space for the healing journey. What matters to me most is creating a shame-free environment where my patients can undertake the journey of discovery with the safety and support they require to grow and thrive.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
As an integrative health and wellness provider, my work in supporting others on their healing journey involves being able to hold space, guide, and show up fully. Kai Wellness is about addressing human needs in a holistic way that includes treating the mind, body, and spirit. In order to be in a supportive role to others, it is imperative that practitioners tend to their own affairs, receive care and continue to grow and evolve both professionally and personally.
Besides keeping current with integrative medicine, I am continuously developing my intuition and I am proud of the way I show up to do my inner work. This is imperative in allowing me to show up to support others in doing theirs! As an intuitive and sensitive person, managing energy has been my greatest challenge turned resource.
Integrity is huge in my business practices – this is why I have busy clinics in two locations that are 100% based on word of mouth. My clients know they are coming to someone who is walking the walk. They can rely on empathy, authenticity and results.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My best friends and I are huge fans of nature, self care, delicious cuisine and the arts. I would take them to the Central Coast beach or Sierra mountain wilderness, visit one (or more) of the wonderful spas in the city, feast on mouth watering sushi and farm to table eats at some of the local gems, and visit a performing arts show to inspire the soul.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My gratitude is boundless and recipients of it countless. The list of friends, mentors, loved ones and supporters who I wish to recognize is enormous! It starts with earthly elements and cosmic mysteries, includes animals and humans and is continually expanding. This question so beautifully touches my heart – the state of gratitude is a healing experience and I am feeling the soothing balm of its tidings. Thanks for asking!
