We had the good fortune of connecting with Shaneisha Dodson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shaneisha, what role has risk played in your life or career?
We have to weigh our risk to see how far we are willing to go to achieve our goals. Risk has played a big role in my career. I always bet on myself.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Writing has always been a passion of mine. I love to create stories that encourage people to dream big. Getting to where I’m at today has been easy as far as my writing career. I’m the founder of the Brilliant Girl. My brand is all about positivity and representation. I’m most proud of my children books and dolls. My current titles are Amina Fairy-In-Training, The Adventures of Sugamama and Sugamama Saves Christmas.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I like to chill so I would start the day at a quaint coffee shop. Then, head to the beach for the day and light dinner. Then, finish the day with a massage.

I’m sending a big Shout Out to all the little dreamers.
