We had the good fortune of connecting with Marcy Lambert-Pellegrino and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marcy, what is the most important factor behind your success?
In my opinion the most important factor behind the Marcy’s Pet Kitchen success is hard work. Yes that means staying up all night and day to accomplish your mini goals to get to your largest goal.

It also means listening to people in the industry to help guide you. Not everyone’s wheelhouse is creative branding, logistics or even writing business plans. Listening for that reason alone, is super crucial to getting your company to where you want it to be.

I always have said, “Everything is an opportunity.”

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have worked in the creative field for over 20 years starting in New York City. I absolutely LOVE the fast paced, high energy of the city and all the opportunities that I was surrounded with.

I started off in Magazine Publications at Condé Nast, moved into the Television Industry and Advertising Industry.

I have gotten where I am today because I am always thinking of new and better ways to advertise, brand, and conceptualize new ideas and products. I have learned to Listen. I cannot stress this enough. Listen to those that understand their wheelhouse, whether it be in Creative, Logistics, Packaging, Consumer Loyalty and so on.

It is never easy. Success is a culmination of all your internships, volunteering, jobs as you climb the ladder and relationships cultivated over the years. Anytime I was in a situation where the vibe and energy felt off- I walked away. I refused to push puzzle pieces that did not fit to comply. I knew there was a time and place for everything and to not force it.

The Marcy’s Pet Kitchen brand is fun yet chockfull of knowledge so we can also educate our consumers about why our gluten free, all-natural dog cookie snacks are so amazing and healthy for all dogs including dog’s with insulin issues.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Given how stressed out things can be for everyone, I would have to say that I would book an appointment at the Spa Calamigos for a day of complete relaxation! Next up would be dinner and drinks at the Providence. Then the following day simply sit by the pool for drinks and laughs. Then repeat. LOL

Creative inspiration can come anytime- even on vacation. So a solid brainstorming session would be fantastic over tapas and drinks.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would love to give the largest shout out to my family first for all the encouragement, financial and creative support along the way. Another special shout out I would like to give is to my best friend’s with consumer marketing knowledge Kate and my business partner Tristen with savvy business sense. They both have taught me so much.
