We had the good fortune of connecting with Lee Levy and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lee, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
Oh, it has changed alright! In 2019 I had a brush with Cancer, and for a year I had to deal with this massive change in my life. Went straight from surgery, to radiation, to chemo. Not the most fun year of my life for sure. And then, when I thought it was all over and I started feeling better, COVID came along and made sure I had another year of staying at home.

Up until the Cancer, I was a super workaholic, and didnt take care of myself. Cancer had definitely taught me to slow down a bit, and make some time for myself.

I started enjoying some hobbies and passions, such as Zumba, Bellydance, and Photography, and I make sure that I stay in shape and do some traveling. And I am lucky, I can work on my web design projects from anywhere.

So I would definitely say that I have managed to successfully balance my life, and I am certainly enjoying it much more now that I have learned to balance it.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
About the Business: Nex Graphics is a Los Angeles based website/graphic design and email marketing company that offers our clients a personalized approach to all our graphics and web design – something you won’t find in the larger graphic and web design firms. We have over fifteen years of one on one and dedicated service. Nex Graphics has been helping our clients by creating websites that are specifically built for their personal business needs.

We are known for our custom design approach. No two clients or businesses are alike, therefore, no two websites or design and marketing materials should be the same. At Nex Graphics, we take pride in presenting clients with custom web design and marketing materials.

Most Proud About:
I used to be VERY computer and computer language challenged in my younger years, to the point where my college teacher even told me “I hope you don’t plan on having a career in Technology”. Well, I would certainly wish that one day HE would come to me for a website so I can show him how wrong he was.

How I got to where I am:
NETWORKING, NETWORKING and NETWORKING. Taking care of your clients 100% leads to great referrals, but those referrals have to start from somewhere and I joined many, many networking groups, met people, listened and learned from them as they did from me. In time, you get jobs and from those satisfied clients you get more jobs. I NEVER invested money in advertising and I’m proud to say I did it 100% on my own!

What I want the world to know:
As I stated earlier, if having Cancer and trying to hold your business together is not enough of a challenge then I dont know what is. Challenges will come, and you CAN OVERCOME THEM!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Honestly no one helped me, I was pretty much on my own
