Meet Suzie Hinds | CEO Devil Punk Productions

We had the good fortune of connecting with Suzie Hinds and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Suzie, what’s the end goal, career-wise?
The aim in life for me, is to see it out right till the end, professionally still working. Looking back from 2060 knowing that I have taken risks, been flexible and created masterpieces I am proud of. All the while staying true to my authentic, vulnerable voice and heart.
I love being the creative voice for others who find if more of a challenge to express their stories, through their own voice. I will be their vessel of expression.
I want a catalog of work that is full of stories of how individuals lived and developed through the centuries. Expressed in an authentic, theatrical and visual delight, helping others to understand and value everyone’s path and journey. Whether it is “based on true events’ true to life or “inspired by’ fantasy.
Collaborations with other’s, mixing ideas and skills, being a helping hand to all who live to create.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m the CEO of DEVIL PUNK . I’m a creative talent who relishes cinematic grandeur. I embellish my stories with dramatic flair, including textures, grit and colors – a real mis-en-scene. This sets me apart in most formats of the industry. I have lived nearly all my life on the beautiful island of Tasmania, which has always been the inspiration for nurturing my internal creative vessel. With its vast and varied landscapes and turbulent history, the soul of Van Dieman’s Land gleams throughout my eclectic body of work.
Now in a truly transformative stage of my life, my artistic talents have ventured into the world of storytelling through my mediums of choice. Through enduring a unique life path, I have many and varied life experiences to draw upon and over the years have embraced the diversity of the human condition that informs my expression through creative art. I bring a compassionate, captivating and soulful edge to a story.
My storytelling is inclusive and explores the key themes from the point of view of each diverse character. To me, it is critical that we see ourselves reflected through film, documenting our common journeys in a favorable and yet at times, a challenging light.
I have lived a life of highs and lows embroiled with many twists and turns which fuel my storytelling with the rawness of varied
emotions that audiences can relate to. My creations are real and they trigger a raft of emotions & thought provoking, that audiences continue to contemplate.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am lucky to say my current home is Los Angeles, though only for 18 months. So in saying that, I too am still exploring this amazing city. With work and creative collaborations, I have mainly stayed in the Valley. Where I have my favorite eating and entertainment places.
I love the food and atmosphere of Aroma Coffee and Tea Co. on Tujunga Ave. I entertain, write and rest here. When it’s time to eat out and party of a night, it’s usually the Saddle Ranch Chop House.
I watch the best theatre shows at Theatre 68 on Lankershim Blvd, three theatres with a variety of theatre experiences. Also Zephyr Theatre on Melrose Ave, also a wonder of entertainment, new upcoming performances and favorites.
I love attending Red Carpet Events, for the new released Movies and TV series, they can scatter around the many old and new movie theatres along Hollywood Blvd.
When I need to get my fill of calm and relaxation, there is always Santa Monica beach, I grew up around many Tasmanian beaches and this is like going home.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My journey through this productive path, has so many mentors, support groups and organizations, that I’m blessed to say are still within my life to this day. With a guiding word, action or push to make sure that I am the best I can be and give the best quality of workmanship.
With 4x Diploma’s, 2x Cert 4 Certificates and countless Certificate of Achievements, the Australian Education Department has been a big contributor to my ever changing world of growth and development. Every time I wanted to switch career paths, the support of all the departments was inspiring. The teacher experienced and knowledgeable.
To my biggest career path change Acting/Writing/Directing, I am forever grateful to The Australian Film and TV Academy and American, Arts, Film and TV Academy. For their support, education and discovery of myself within the industry of Film and TV.
The brilliant teachers that I did workshops with like American Legends Larry Moss, Peter Blackburn, Ron Orbach and Australian Masters of John Orcsik, Colin Budds and Kym Jackson to name a few.
Recently joining the world workshop of ‘The Art of Living’ with Matthew McConaughey. Along with Tony Robbins.
To stay mentally grateful for all the careers and jobs I have achieved, Louise Hay’s book ‘You Can Heal Your Life’ and Rhonda Byrne ‘The Magic’ with Trish Spear’s ‘Change your thinking, Change your Life’ NLP.
I’ve been taught that to be at your best self, you need to take care of yourself. Then you can give more to others.
