We had the good fortune of connecting with Guy Holmes III and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Guy, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I’m from Fairfield, CA but I grew up in other city’s across Northern California. Being from Fairfield has taught me a lot. I’ve lost friends to gun violence and jail and it made me appreciate life and friendships a lot more growing up. To this day I nurture my relationships with people because you never know what’s going to happen.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a content creator but I started off as a professional hip hop dancer. I traveled the world dancing and teaching. Some places I would go to teach others I would go and dance or choreograph for artist such as Danileigh, Will Smith, Jaden Smith, Lil Jon, and Usher .. Just to make a few. I grew up playing sports (Footballs, Basketball, Track) do dance was never something that came across my mind growing up. I was the outcast growing up, but not in a bad way, my friends knew I was the artsy guy in the group. Was it hard, hell yeah, cause I felt so different from everyone else, I felt like I didn’t fit in but lucky for me the friend group I grew up in want even trippin off nothing like that. I’ve learned a lot on the way up especially running the streets with the guys and blooming what young boys/teens do. I built my WHOLE brand on self elevation and just being better than yesterday. I might not pound it into people’s head everyday but my underlying message it to be better that yesterday.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I like going to San Francisco just to explore the city. I could never live there but it’s fire ! Places like the Metreon Theater and Pier 39 will always have a place in my heart. I also mess with Sacramento heavy. I’m not from there but it is my second home and the clubs, festivals, and foods there are dope spots I go all the time to kick it. Tiger is one of my favorite clubs to go to .. Thai Canteen is one of my favorite spots to eat at … and Doco area, where the Sacramento Kings play, has a lot of things going on daily.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to dedicate this Shoutout to my daughter Zhuri London Holmes. She’s not born yet but by the time this is published she will be.

Words can’t even describe how I feel about you but I’ll simply say ..

I love you with every fiber of my being

<3 Daddy
