We had the good fortune of connecting with Anziz Az and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Anziz, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
I came up with this idea of business to help indies artists! As a music producer, I was working with a lot of artists that was explaining to me how hard is it to find a opportunity to perform or even how everyone wanna charge them to perform! So I decided to create a platform, that will get them to perform without paying and actually get paid! As the business keep growing we then decide to make it more interesting by adding comedy stand up & choreography

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We Rising is one of the kind artists showcase, it’s probably the only indie platform that get them pay to perform and gain new fans! I’m really proud of how far we have grown to the point we get over 20+ submission per day for a 12 spots show for once a month, it describes how much the brand is loved and appreciated are everyone wanna be part of it. As challenge it is as navigating it all, and putting the show together, it’s safe to say the outcome of each show make it worth it! Dealing with different schedules and artists last minutes bail out from show to show, the best part is the feedback and be able to give people the opportunity no one else will give them! I have received messages like “thanks for giving my first ever show performance”, this is the reason why I keep going cause the challenge is way more complex to be put into words. One of the highlight challenge is set up the set time, as no one wanna really open and everyone wanna perform at pick time! it takes about a week alone to decide set time but we always find a way to make it fair for everyone! I did learn a new skill of putting a show together and I think I”m ready for the big stages like Live Nation or Golden Voice. haha One thing I sure want the world to know about We Rising is, it’s a fun positive vibe showcase that celebrate unique talents around Los Angeles!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Definetly first take them to We Rising for some good vibe & networking atmosphere! Spend day times in malibu since I adore the beach and the quiet feel of Malibu! And weekend nights willl sure be at Members in West Hollywood as there is no better restaurant/lounge/club in one place in LA! Mainly cause of usual traffic you don’t wanna be driving everywhere

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
We Rising LA wouldn’t be possible without the support Mr Adrien & the entire staff of Knucklehead Hollywood, They host us every month and help make it all happen! To my best friend BilDine that helps set up the show every time, to the artists, dancers & comedians that believe in the brand and always wanna be part of it. To our DJ jvynova & photographer Tanairy Robles, that always show up and do their things! And most importantly to the friends that come support every show
