We had the good fortune of connecting with Sophie and Aly Rozdilsky and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sophie and Aly, is there something you can share with us that those outside of the industry might not be aware of?
When you look at the entertainment industry from the outside, as a consumer, it looks glitzy and glamorous. The reality is that behind every moment of success there is a lot of work, a lot of business decisions and yes, some element of luck. Being at the right place at the right time is due to luck, but putting your best foot forward is all dependent upon your attitude and preparedness, not that of your agent or manager, yours.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
We are Aly, Sophie, and brother William, known throughout social media as the Gymnastics Nomads.

Sophie and Aly started their careers as rhythmic gymnasts and competed internationally in Algeria, Mongolia, Bulgaria, France, etc. They transformed into acting, dancing, and modeling. They have appeared in movies, commercials, and music videos by Jojo Siwa, Oliver Tree, Lil Durk, J. Cole, Gabrielle Ross.

We have had to overcome many challenges spanning from our international lifestyle such as training interruptions due to political crises and natural disasters, and of course the Covid pandemic which affected everyone in the entertainment industry. Such critical and trying moments have called for a lot of patience, persistence, and faith. Resilience is a muscle that is not strengthened overnight. We keep a grateful
attitude for everything we have in life which in even the gravest circumstances is far greater than what we lack at any given moment..

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We would start with the LDS Temple on Santa Monica Boulevard. It is one of the most visited attractions in Los Angeles. Everyone who has been at the Visitors Center at the Temple has felt uplifted. There is a peaceful feeling that permeates the Temple grounds.

Catch a great vintage deal at Melrose Trading Post every week. We often hang out at Topanga Mall and the Los Angeles Zoo.

We love eating at Los Toros Mexican Restaurant in Chatsworth and enjoy Japanese tayaki fish snacks at Somi Somi in Little Tokyo. We love boba so highly recommend the Tea Mug Boba on Sawtelle Blvd.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
We began our dance training outside the U.S. first under the tutelage of Mme. Nouara Idami from Algiers, Algeria. She is a graduate of Moscow Academy of Performing Arts and the foremost dance trainer and choreographer in Algeria. We are so grateful to Batchemeg Gandzorig and Saranbyamba Baatar of Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, Prima ballerinas of the National Opera of Mongolia who gave us their all in the two years we lived in Mongolia.

We owe a whole lot to Abby Lee Miller from Dance Moms/Abby Lee Dance Company who polished our acrobatic skills to another level. So immensely grateful to Gianna Martello and Natalie Minns who are incredible choreographers and dance instructors.

We currently dance at the Crew Dancers where Mollee Gray and Jeka Jane have taught us so much not only about dance but also about this industry.

We will never forget Betina Dimitrova a top dancer and choreographer from Bulgaria and Mariana Gatto Duran for helping us so much during the Covid epidemic.

We owe all our actors training to Lilia Slavova and to Actors Edge, an acting school in San Louis Obispo, California.
