Meet Travis Nagle | Co-founder

We had the good fortune of connecting with Travis Nagle and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Travis, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factors have been innovation and resilience. From day one we’ve focused on offering something unique within the world of furniture (eco-friendly, customizable), and that’s allowed us to stand out amongst much larger companies. Over time, we’ve also been very resilient through the various challenges that have come our way. Being able to keep focus on our core mission and be adaptable to evolve and meet customer needs has been essential for a company like ours that has never taken any funding.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’m really proud of not compromising with the standards and values we have with Medley. Knowing what I know about materials and production of furniture, we’ve made a decision to constantly improve our products despite the end pricing being higher. There is pressure to go the typical route of building overseas at volume, focusing on getting the price down as much as possible. Instead, we’ve been able to build in the US and use materials and craftsmanship that make our pieces non-toxic, personalized, and with a durability that is the best available in the market. Through this disciplined approach I think we offer real value to customers for both the short and long term.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would do an exploration of the Arts District and Venice. Yes, these areas are far apart! But, I think they also offer a magical blend of what makes the LA special with the access to creative culture, great food, and unique history. Go checkout some art galleries and of course some of the best walking areas as well.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to shoutout to my mom and dad for both being supportive with our business, and for me as a person. I was always encouraged to forge my own path and think about things critically.
