Hi Giovanni, what do you attribute your success to?
The key to our company’s success, as well as my personal success within the company, lies in our unique approach to business. We strongly believe in upholding our core values of sophistication, community, and quality. By consistently applying these values in all aspects of our operations, we have been able to achieve ongoing success.
What should our readers know about your business?
Loft and Bear is the first fully owned African American distillery in California and second since prohibition in the country. Our head distiller is among just a handful of Hispanic/Latino head distillers in the United States and the only known Latino head distiller in LA. Our business approach is rooted from our values: our community, product quality and hard work.
We’ve learned a lot in the game, it’s a tough business; these big companies “pay to play” so it makes it hard for a minority/small business to succeed, but thanks to the customers who continue to support us, we’re still here!

We want to tell everyone that our mission is to make quality spirits, to grow and uplift our community and to give opportunities to those who are deserving of it regardless of their status, where they grew up and color.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take them to Fixins located in LA Live. Fixins makes the best chicken and waffles in the city, plus they have many libations made with loft and bear that will quench anyone’s thirst.
We would also go to blue bottle coffee, catch a Clippers game and finish off the day with a tour and tasting at our distillery.
