We had the good fortune of connecting with Jean-Pierre Giagnoli and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I wear many hats and I have a passion for them all. I am an Actor, rapper, DJ, Host, MC, comedian, impressionist, VO artist, and Parapsychologist. I believe al these things set me apart from the rest because I have not found anyone who does all the things that I do. All of these things really are like a description of who I am. I am adaptable and change with the seasons. I remember at one of the my low points my wife reminded me off all the things I had accomplished by the age of 30 and even though at the time I could not see it, I now know I have done a lot with my life and I will do a lot more and I am very proud of that fact. I am excited for everything right now. Two of the most exciting things I am currently working on are being cast in a new TV series called Hello Cannabis, as a principal character by Michael Howard Productions https://michaelhowardproductions.com/ and I started working on my second full length studio rap album. The album is about video games because I am a big gamer in my free time. I am excited because I produced the entire album by myself and am currently in the writing process. I got where I am today by working hard, learning all I can and consistency. Getting to this point was not easy in any way. I was raised by an abusive and unsupportive grandmother who constantly beat me down in every way. I was always going after what I am doing now but never had the full confidence and self esteem to really believe in myself and do it until I had the courage to step away from my abuser and heal myself. I overcame it by changing my perspective on life and realizing there are no rules and you should always do what makes you happy. I faced my fears and left a job I hated for 10 years and go after my crazy dream of being an entertainer. I learned that when you put yourself in that kind of situation and face your fears your natural survival instinct kicks in and you make it work. I am proud to say that in 2018 I left my job to go after my dreams and I have made it work. All my bills are paid and I am still going. Even that was not all roses. After staying away from my family for a year to heal from the abuse I got a call from a family friend that they were all in the hospital with covid and if I would come back to help them, that year allowed me to love myself and see that I can be whatever I want no matter what anybody thinks, I said yes to help them and had to watch my mother die on a ventilator. She was an angel of a person but also controlled by my abusive grandmother and you could not have one without the other. My grandmother survived about 3 months past my mother and died as well. I was alone now and no one could help as I was the only blood around. My wife stayed by my side thankfully. I can tell you that I watched two people die filled with regret and that was eye opening for me and even though I already started living the life I wanted it made me want to really work harder to not feel that way when my time comes. A month later it was discovered that there was a tumor on my left Kidney that had been the cause of all of my health problems and it took a long time to be discovered because I had zero symptoms. Less than a year ago I had the tumor removed. UCLA saved my life and coming out of that gave me even more motivation to go after my dreams. I will not take life for granted again. I want the world to know that I am not the only one that has gone through tough times and you are not alone in your struggles we all have them no matter how big or small. I want to show that a creative with passion and authenticity can do it even when our world loves the controversy and drama. I am not working for fame, fortune or success. What I am working for is much more personal, I am working towards true fulfillment and happiness.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There is so much to do out here so it is hard to decide but I know some spots I would take them for sure. Definitely a trip to the Queen Mary all my friends and I are into the paranormal so this place is a must. Also, a trip to Universal Studios and City Walk. A day at the park and dinner on the walk sounds good. You get to have multiple experiences there. Santa Monica pier has the ocean and so many options for food and fun that it would be a blast. There are many locations but a trip to Dave and Busters for some drinks and games is always a good time. I always think about Chinatown, little Tokyo and the arts district when I think of LA. This would all take up some time with plenty of options for fun, food and drinks.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The biggest shoutout goes out to my mother Paula Hunter. She passed away in 2021 from covid and no one else loved me unconditionally, believed in me, and supported me like her. I miss her everyday and I am lucky enough to have her good heart. My talent agent Debbie Harrison (MPM models and talent), who recently retired, she discovered me at a rough time in my life and gave me a lot of hope. My wife Danielle who has been by my side for many years and supports me and my dreams. My friend German Sanchez who recently took my new head shots. Osmin Rivera, a close friend who has always been there for me especially when I lost my family to covid and went through cancer. Gloria Wong a close friend who could not have been there more than anyone. There are many but these really stand out to me.
