We had the good fortune of connecting with Megan Sousa and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Megan, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
You really have to be determined to make it work. You have to make a decision to do a thing and pull the resources together. I really believe in my brand, team and vision. It’s definitely one brick at a time mentality.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I learned to stay focused on my own personal journey and doing what it takes to stay grounded and on top of my craft. Every path comes with some challenges but staying close with family and friends while doing the things I love keeps me on track.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Manhattan Beach is always a vibe. I enjoy a good eat at Mr. Masala DTLA. Maybe shop on Melrose and catch Crack ‘Em Up at The Comedy Store on Sunset.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Yes! I want to dedicate this shoutout to my dear friend and muse Tarik Jackson. He’s a genius writer, filmmaker and comedian. We created many iconic moments over my career and I learned so much from him and his creative freedom. I have many credits in my filmography because of him.
