We had the good fortune of connecting with Wayne D Burdette Jr and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Wayne D, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
When I looked at starting my own business, I looked at things that I enjoyed doing in life and how I could bring them under one management company in order to effectively operate each one of them and continue to do things that I love to do. The saying that if you love what you do for your work then truly you will never work a day in your life. This was me and so I started Carolina Enterprises & Holdings and then Infinity Enterprises & Holdings to manage my scuba diving instructing business and medical with tactical training center.

Then when I got involved in the entertainment industry after writing my book that was released on Amazon and then starting to write screenplays, I formed Moonless Media & Entertainment. As this continues to grow with ne announcements coming daily I always have again the thought process of do I enjoy doing it and can it help others as well.

What should our readers know about your business?
Where I am today in my businesses did not come easy at all and I have faced many failures since purchasing my first automobile dealership back in 1996. But I have been so fortunate to try and learn from my mistakes and keep getting up and going after what it is I believe and want out of life and business. When I started my current business, I wanted to do something unique and that is what I am continuing to put together each and every day. The uniqueness is linking the business together to provide services that in the past individuals would have to pay 3 or 4 different companies just to get everything. For example, where else can you go to hire an executive protection agent that is trained as a medicine as well though as a scuba diver. This individual can provide everything, and they obtained it from one company.

With Moonless Media & Entertainment it is the same thing. We provide so many different services under one company that make us unique from all the rest. Talent Agent, Screenplay Writing, Production, Directing and even distribution to name a few. This keeps it in one company and maximizes profitability, which in turn is passed down to the writers, talent, & crew.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
For me, I currently reside in Charleston, SC but do travel to LA on business. I would have to say to me it depends on what the person visiting you likes and where you take them. For example, if they are new to the entertainment industry and want to see the history then of course those areas would be in the planning of what to do. For me though, I am one that loves finding a little small quiet little restaurant to eat at. Of course, I have friends there as well that would be on the list of having to visit with during the time in LA. and deciding with them where to go and the other things, but I always do love traveling to LA.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would have to say that first anything I do in life is by the Grace of God because without Him, I would not be where I am today. There have been so many that have supported me along the way with starting Moonless Media & Entertainment but also some of my other business. Todd Yarborough of Red Alert Diving has been with me and supported me every step of the way in my scuba diving career. As for the entertainment industry, Christan Van Slyke that I have cowritten over 8 award-winning scripts has helped me so much in my writing but also Maria Tran & Elizabeth Vu with Phoenix Eye out of Australia because they adopted me into their film family and are so honest with me when I send them a screenplay to review and know they can be. Directing would have to be Michael Givens because I see how hard he works and all I have to do is send him a text and he doesn’t hesitate to respond with advice. In racing it would have to be my partner Chris James but there are so many more that we would be here for a while because to me building a family in business is important and I am thankful of where I am and looking forward to the future.
