We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittany Daniels and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brittany, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The thought process behind starting TheRareOproject was to create a safe space for young mothers to be supported. With my past and present experiences as a former teen mom, I feel inspired to share my story and be a role model of hope for others.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have been in the medical field since I was seventeen years old. During the years I have transition and played many roles. I currently am working as a billing specialist but there was a time when I played the fold of four different people at my previous job.

I am most proud of my resilience to keep going despite all of the challenges I’ve faced. I’ve gone to college and graduated a few times while being a mommy and running a medical practice in these 19 years of my career.

No, it hasn’t been easy at all but through my discouraging days, exhaustion and days of frustration, my kids have kept me motivated to keep pushing forward.

There have been plenty of lessons I’ve learned on this journey and one of my biggest lessons is that I will never put my professional career before my own family and well being again. Because I dedicated so many years (17) at my last job, the sacrifices I made in the end didn’t mean anything and I was demoted unwarranted.

I’m moving forward despite such a hard blow to my livelihood and decision to move along to something new. I’m grateful to still be able to provide for my family in a happier setting. I want other women to feel inspired that they could jump back from the bottom as well even if they feel like it’ll never happen.

Stay focused, be encouraged and keep going.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take her near the Santa Monica or marina area for a nice meal and beverage surrounded by the water. California is known for his sunny days and beaches that will always be a vibe

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to shoutout my four beautiful children who are my inspiration, motivation and they bring me so much joy.

Because of their light I am able to wake up everyday feeling so much gratitude to be their mommy.

They will never understand how much I’ve needed their love to keep me going.
