Meet Tony Lowery | NASM-CPT, CNC, CES and founder of Live@1000 Fitness LLC

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tony Lowery and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tony, is there something you believe many others might not?
The concept that all “hard” work pays off. The implication of “hard” closely meaning beyond one’s normal capacity or desire, but I can always bet confidently on “smart” work. In my experience, I’ve found that having a well-though out approach is always the best foot forward.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The brand is Live at 1000 Fitness (Live@1000 Fitness)! We specialize in weight loss, sports conditioning, corrective exercise, nutritional coaching, and boxing basics. We’re based in Los Angeles’s Little Tokyo District, and offer private personal training, boot camp training, and classroom instruction. This all began as a hobby training friends and advising family members on basic eating/activity principles. a strong catalyst in making a transition into small business was the 2020 pandemic. Finding a good opportunity in financials became the most challenging with closures. It was then that I simply structured my days as work shift for my brands building. I spent two hours in the morning prospecting, I then spent another two hours reading on how to build my infrastructure. The following two hours after that was my gym time lol. (Though I only used one to train) I’d grab a lunch with the second hour, and then two hours of gathering leads via calling friends/associates. After that was completed, and my food was well digested, I’d go out prospecting for another two hours. So, no. It was NOT easy at all, but very rewarding in experience, and becoming productive. Soon, leads/referrals seemed to find their way to me, versus me always on the chase. In my experience, being very tactful, and organized is key to getting your idea in motion. And trust me, a dry erase board, Google Calendar, and post-its become a Godsend, lol!!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Surprisingly, I’m not the most experienced with LA’s social circuit. I’m kind of like Batman, lol. But seriously, the folks I know would appreciate the beaches and bodies of water that are accessible here. I’d also, expose them to the hiking nearing the Observatory in Hollywood Hills. And, if shopping, great deals in the Garment District. If Soul Food, take the 10 Fwy exit Crenshaw going South….take your pick, lol! And if I could narrow it down to one place near me in DTLA for touristy eating it’d definitely be Grand Central Market! So many options there, and typically good vibes!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Yes! I want to dedicate this article to the person that currently IS exactly as I WAS. The individual that has/had a dream that didn’t or doesn’t receive a cheering section when presented. They get doubts like, “how will I pay the bills with that?” The person with some gift they want to share with the world around them, but they just don’t know where to begin; nor have complete confidence in their ability not to fail. To the point, they just don’t want to “look stupid”. Well, consider this as a flag waving from the other side…strengthen your faith….and GO FOR IT!
