We had the good fortune of connecting with Iva Perez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Iva, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?

The whole work-life balance concept is tiring! As women and mothers, we constantly feel like juggling all the balls up in the air no matter what.

And that’s quite a stressful and tiring way to live.

Plus, here’s a little secret: Life is not always 50-50. Being ‘in balance’ does not exist in my viewpoint.

Yes, previously, my life felt like a balancing act for sure.

For starters, I was not aware of what type of balls I was juggling. Not all the balls we’re supposed to be juggling are the same.

In life, some balls are rubber, and some are glass.

Health, family, relationships, and my children are all glass balls. While work, to-do lists, a tidy home, and even money are all rubber balls.

So, when a ball has to drop, I make sure it’s a rubber one.

What has helped me having this outlook is to look at life through the lens of harmony.

Being IN HARMONY with what is makes life better and effortless!

This has been a refreshing optic that sets the stage for creativity, flow, and enjoyment in life because I’m never feeling like I’m dropping any one ball.

I get to align myself intentionally with the way things are at any given moment in time, keeping an eye out for the glass balls, and choosing when to gently place them down for a while when my focus needs to be elsewhere without fear that they will break.

Now. that’s less stress in life right there.

I like to share this insight with every single mother out there who might be struggling at the moment, lying awake at night wondering if she will ever get her act together.

My take is it doesn’t ever have to be an all-or-nothing proposition. But if we master being in harmony with where we are in life, we will enjoy each season of our life much more flowing easily into every new stage we’re in.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?

I help women who may find themselves in a ‘hustle, grind, repeat’ cycle.

Or what I call the ‘sabotaging overachiever’ mode.

This all too familiar scenario might feel like being stretched out thin, trying to juggle all the balls in the air, and wanting to do things perfectly and without help.

At the same time, there might be a feeling of failure, in which they might snap at the kids and feel guilty afterwards while feeling tired from working around the clock, staying up late, and putting in so much effort in achieving their goals…

I help women discover a way to tap into their subconscious mind and use it to their advantage.

Since the subconscious mind is 30,000 times more powerful than the conscious mind, it is the one running the show.

But if it operates on faulty or outdated beliefs, it will continue to produce results that are misaligned.

As a Licensed Rapid Transformational Hypnotherapist, I am passionate about helping  women:

• Grow their confidence to step with power into their work/business.

• Heal past trauma, phobias or inner resistance so they can share their brilliance, talents and gifts.

• Shift the guilt and anxiety so they can enjoy motherhood while pursuing their passion.

RTT is a rapid and long lasting modality that helps them achieve true powerful transformations by creating new subconscious blueprints.

It IS possible to ditch the anxiety, lack of confidence, a harsh inner dialogue and any other unhelpful belief or unwanted behavior  in as little as 1-3 sessions.

This way, women can go back to their families and raise their kids as a better version of themselves.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

There are so many beautiful sights and awe-inspiring places in Singapore, it’s hard to list them all!

The minute you land in Singapore, the first stop should JEWEL located inside the airport itself.

Not many airports have a tourist destination inside their structure, but Changi Airport does. The crown jewel (pun intended)? The Rain Vortex is a sight to behold as the world’s tallest indoor waterfall.

Walking shoes are a must here, as Singapore is not only one of the Top-Ten Safest Cities but also quite small, so you can cover a lot just by walking.

You can start off at the most imposing structure on the Singapore skyline _ Marina Bay Sands, and do nearby strolls to the iconic Merlion fountain (the symbol of Singapore), Gardens by the Bay, the Marina Barrage, the Singapore Flyover, as well as nearby Chinatown.

If hunger strikes, try the national dish: the Hainanese chicken rice (which consists of silky poached meat, fragrant rice and tangy chilli sauce). You will find the best ones at hawker centres across town.

The Botanic Gardens (which are a UNESCO World Heritage site) are a beautiful landmark right smack in the middle of town. You can marvel at the beautiful landscapes with lakes, swans and a the great variety of flora and featured orchids. It’s a surprising contrast that the tranquil Gardens are at the fringe of the Orchard Road shopping district, which also deserves a visit if you are in the mood for shopping.

The nearby Robertson Quay and Boat Quay areas host great nightlife with many bars and watering holes along the way, but they also have their own charm during the day if you want a stroll along the water.

If you’re feeling more outdoorsy there’s around 26 walking trails for trekking in Singapore and I would recommend MacRitchie Nature Trail & Reservoir Park because it packs it’s degree of cardio with shaded trails that inspire a walking meditation.

To cap off the day you can head out to Sentosa island.

On any given day, beautiful people gather at the Tanjong Beach Club to bask in the sun, splash in the water, drink some spirits (of the drinkable variety) and watch the sun set.

On the varied menu of the place, there is an Acai Bowl that is OUT OF THIS WORLD!

The restaurant scene in Singapore is also varied and caters to any imaginable cuisine. Dempsey Hill is a good bet as is Chinatown or go fancy at the Marina Bay Sands bar rooftop, where you can also see the lights of the neighboring countries Malaysia and Indonesia!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?

There are too many to count! I am thankful for all the teachers, mentors and masters that have appeared in my life.
This shoutout is to a special someone who is my partner-in-life.

It is not the journey or the destination that is most important but rather the company.

Having someone by your side that fans your flame and cheers you on is invaluable. The saying is true: “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.”

My husband’s unwavering love and support allow me to show up as the best version of me in all that I do.

He also introduced me to the book ‘Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself’ by Dr. Joe Dispenza. He initially got the book for himself but never read it.

It remained unopened until, out of curiosity, I picked it up and devoured it.

This book marked a turning point for me, leading me to discover my calling in life.

I am thankful for the work of Dr. Dispenza as well as my spouse, for buying the book, believing in me, and being my biggest fan and supporter.
