We had the good fortune of connecting with DeVonae Wallace and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi DeVonae, alright, let’s jump in with a deep one – what’s you’re definition for success?
To me success is more than just gaining financial freedom. It represents hard work and dedication. It means taking risks and believing in yourself even when no one else does. Success is something that anyone can achieve. The only question is are you willing to put in the work.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The name of the business is called Mellow Massage. I am the managing partner of the Hollywood location. Unlike most massage places, we are a pain management studio. We incorporate physical therapy techniques along with the massage. Our goal is to help clients who suffer from chronic pain, to be able to live a normal life. In the beginning, it was hard. In a market that’s over saturated with this kind of service, we had to find a way to separate ourselves from the rest. And after almost two years, we are still here and thriving.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
One of my favorite places to eat is at Fixins Soul Food restaurant in Downtown Los Angeles. The food is great and the staff is amazing. After a quick bite to eat, we’d head over to Rodeo Drive for a bit of shopping. Another place to go is Newport Beach. Spending a day relaxing at the beach is one of my favorite things to do.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to give recognition to my team. Without them, I would have no business. Their dedication to the business and our clients is unlike anything I’ve seen before. They truly understand the importance and meaning of teamwork.
