We had the good fortune of connecting with Erin Ashley Simon and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Erin Ashley, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
At XSET, our commitment lies in making a positive social impact through initiatives within the gaming community, and a particular emphasis on underserved and underrepresented communities. Our core principle revolves around elevating existing efforts and resources with each project we undertake, each initiative we launch, and every passing year.

We recognize that meaningful social impact doesn’t always necessitate grand gestures; it can also result from the accumulation of numerous small steps that collectively contribute to the betterment of a community. Our approach involves identifying areas where we can make a difference, even in subtle ways, and then working diligently to effect change.

XSET’s dedication to social impact revolves around leveraging our influence within the gaming community to create a ripple effect of positive change. Our actions, whether big or small, are driven by the belief that collective progress is achieved through continuous, thoughtful, and purpose-driven initiatives.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
When it comes to my work, I think I know how to connect with people through relatability. I come across as someone who could be a friend to others and someone who others can see a bit of themselves. This has allowed me to break down walls and secure great interviews.

I got to where I am with the support of my mom who has been there for me 100 percent of the way. There are always challenges when you go after your dreams – but having others believe in you helps.

The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that it takes a village to reach your dreams and that you can’t do it alone. I think I want the world to know about my brand. At the end of the day, the most important thing for me is helping to change other people’s lives through my work. Even if it is one person, that’s what really matters.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m a massive foodie so I would take them to some of my favorite food spots. So we would go to places like MoguMogu, or La Boheme, or even Porto’s.

If you want a night of dancing check out La Descarga. Or, if you want to chill out you can go to Thirsty Merchant. Karaoke in K-Town is always fun with friends. There are some cute coffee spots all around, as well!

But, in LA, it’s all about finding the spots that work for you.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a shoutout to my friend Bre Auberry, who does marketing work in entertainment and gaming. She is someone who puts in the work and as a friend always keeps me afloat. It’s great to have someone you can bounce ideas or thoughts off of without judgment. And of course, she supports me day in and day out.
