Hi Songs That Embarrass Our Families, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
We met at Second City in the improv conservatory and bonded over our mutual love of ukuleles and poop jokes. We wrote our first song, Starter Dick, which mortified our parents so we decided to keep going and Songs That Embarrass Our Families was born.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
We write songs that embarrass our families, go figure! It’s a blast. Being able to write and play together got us through the pandemic. We built a youtube channel and wrote many original songs, parodies and sketches. The past year or so we started playing live and have been seen at Flappers, The Glendale Room, The Mixx in Pasadena, The Comedy Chateau, Tao Comedy and many more. We want the world to know that girls poop too cause there’s nothing we can’t do.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We start our day at the crack of noon and go to this quaint little coffee shop off the beaten path, Starbucks. Then do a nice little day drinking lunch at Laurel Tavern in Studio City. For a quick snack go to Boardners in Hollywood for some nachos. Then go get dinner at Casa Vega for possibly more nachos. (We love to eat. Specifically nachos.) For something non food related catch a comedy show at Flapper’s in Burbank or The Glendale Room. In Glendale. After the comedy show you can hit a taco truck for some tacos. And maybe some nachos.
