We had the good fortune of connecting with Simmya Tave and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Simmya, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Taking risks honestly pushed my brand further, I feel that if you aren’t willing to take risks with your business you’ll find yourself being discouraged and unmotivated. For me risk honestly molded my brand if I didn’t take risks I wouldn’t be where I am today.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
What sets my business apart from others is that I care about EVERYONE , I have a affordable collection and a luxury collection. Being a young female I realized that sometimes affordable isn’t high quality but, with 7 Hair Bar By MES that isn’t the case. I make sure that everyone is able to experience quality hair and products no matter what. I got to where I am now by consistency and constant research on ways to make my business grow. Starting a business wasn’t easy at all , I over came the challenges by motivating myself looking for continuous way to improve my knowledge as far as my business. I took risks, I lost money , and most of all I learned along the way. I went through life challenges as well as regular business challenges. I had to deal with personal issues as far as my grandfather having a stroke and, me and my mother had to become his primary care. Juggling a business , school, and taking care of my grandfather was a challenge for me and it was honestly a testing time. I grew so much in a short period of time and life was moving ahead of me , I lost motivation and I even had creative blocks. Once I enrolled in nursing school I saw the bigger picture, I knew that I wanted to take 7 Hair Bar By MES further .. I want everyone to know no matter what you go through chase your dreams because I can guarantee you that they won’t chase you.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend were to visit me for a week , I’d definitely make sure we go to the beach .. we’d go eat at several different restaurants, we honestly love little hole in the wall restaurants. WE LOVE LOVE LOVE The Foodie Culture LA which I partly own with my mother THE BEST FOOD OUT! We love to go out for drinks at third base & we love going to the hookah lounge secret in Hollywood.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I honestly want to thank my mom & my grandfather. My mom helped me find my investor and she also pushed me and motivated me to get my business going. My grandfather was honestly the fuel of it wasn’t for him I honestly don’t feel like I would’ve pushed as hard as I do for my business.
