Hi Mishéll, the decisions we make often shape our story in profound ways. What was one of the most difficult decisions you’ve had to make?
When I was 23, I faced a significant challenge as I suffered a stroke amidst a bustling schedule of concerts, TV shows, and international projects. Doctors told me I wouldn’t sing again and must change my profession and artistic lifestyle. To me, it felt like a sentence to death, not life – just mere existence. So I had to make a decision, and thanks to my family, who was always there for me, it wasn’t that hard. Music runs in my blood, and I can’t envision myself in any other role. So, I simply continued to pursue my passion. Moreover, that incident showed me my direction, strengths, and authenticity. I started to listen to my heart carefully and follow it. My relationship with music became even more profound. It became my remedy, healing me and aiding in my recovery. The true power of music!
Nowadays, it’s really simple to lose our way. We often find ourselves tempted to become lost and must make an effort to be more mindful and deliberate with our choices. However, our inner selves hold the solutions within us, and our souls understand what’s most suitable for us.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I create soul music infused with elements of jazz. Through it, I express my authenticity, love, journey and inspire people with my live performances, spreading positive energy. I just played a show in Santa Monica. And honestly, I was amazed by the beautiful crowd. The people who come to my performances are fantastic. I feel such magnificent energy. They often mention that I’m a petite woman with a powerful voice, which catches them off guard when they first meet me. I feel blessed that God has given me musical talent, allowing me to share it with the world and make it a better place! We are all different, from different backgrounds and cultures, but music is universal; it just erases all the boundaries. That’s the magic! I believe that every individual’s path to success is paved with hard work. Along my journey, I’ve learned that sticking to your truth and staying faithful to your heart are crucial. These principles serve as the main guiding beacon. Consequently, when you are genuine in your pursuits, you receive way more than material things. For example, not so long ago, I released a new song called Racing. By the way, it was my debut release in the US. It’s interesting that I sing about Hollywood in this song, but when it was written, I was in Ukraine. And here I am, in Hollywood, chasing my dreams. Isn’t it crazy? So listen to my new release, Racing, on all musical platforms; I’m sure the infectious groove will make your body move.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would happily share some places in Santa Monica that I enjoy. The first that comes to my mind is Buena Vida Tea Bar & Garden. It is an absolutely beautiful place with a tranquil atmosphere. I’d say it’s a refreshing escape from the hustle and bustle with a diverse selection of high-quality teas and a variety of delicious bakery. For donut enthusiasts like myself, I’d recommend Sidecar Doughnuts & Coffee. Their donuts are always fresh and delicious, with unique, enjoyable flavors. Also, they have gluten-free and vegan options, which is fantastic for those who stick to a plant-based diet.

I want to express my gratitude to the people who always stay behind the scenes – my family and my team. They have always been there for me through thick and thin, offering their unwavering love and support. I am genuinely thankful for them.
