Meet FLORENTiNO | Singer/Songwriter & Actor.

We had the good fortune of connecting with FLORENTiNO and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi FLORENTiNO, do you disagree with some advice that is more or less universally accepted?
The piece of advice that has been harder for me to process definitely has to be “focus on one thing”. As a self titled creative powerhouse I find joy in dabbling in different branches of the arts, wether is music, acting, fashion styling, modeling, creative direction, or even P.A.-ing on set I rejoice in the ability to flex my creative muscles every time I can and little by little I’ve been acquiring knowledge that has helped me along in my career in one way or another. I believe that my ability to do all this things successfully is a blessing or a gift from the universe if you will, and I will continue to do it all til’ my last breath.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As you probably know by now I have a big passion for the artistry & entertainment. I’ve always said that if I were to be in the arts field, I would be happy no matter what I would be doing, thankfully moving to Los Angeles helped me explore and dabble in the things that make my soul tingle like music and acting. Being in this city has blessed me with amazing opportunities that I could only dream of. I got the opportunity to star in the short film “Rory” by Sammy McEntire published by Flaunt Magazine, got a feature on the sitcom Modern Family, gotten to assist a few major shoots for Billboard and Playboy magazine, have been elevating independent music career and even have gotten to work for the queen.
(More on that later).
What sets me apart from others would have to be my authenticity, originality and my charisma. I approach everything I do and everyone I meet with the best energy and intention and not to toot my own horn but I truly am a magical experience (or at least I like to think so, lol)
Something that makes me really proud is my journey. When I was younger I always had big aspirations and for some reason I always knew that had been attached to this amazing city. After arriving I quickly learned that the things that once looked like a crazy dream are just jobs & this is an industry like any other and here, with hard work and dedication you’ll achieve whatever you set your mind to.
Approaching the industry as a freelance artist definitely has some challenges and in a city so fast paced like LA and industry so cutthroat like entertainment we become such work horses, always chasing the next gig, the next adventure, the next opportunity that we often forget to take a minute to stop, take a breathe and reflect on the amazing things that we’ve already accomplished and I want to encourage everyone that’s reading this to do the same. (BREATHE) (GRATITUDE)
Has it been easy? absolutely not, but what good thing in life comes to us easy? excluding love ofc (and sometimes not even that) Thankfully my spirituality helps me ground myself and stay present to not get too caught up in the anxiety of the future or dealing with comparing myself to other’s journeys. My amazing group of friends is also a big help because even with big distances in between we help each other succeed just by being our biggest supporters and always finding time to encourage and share love to one another as we go through life and its challenges together.
If there’s something that I’ve learned in this journey is to trust to process, believe in yourself and PATIENCE PATIENCE PATIENCE! The ratio of No’s Vs. Yes’ is crazy, you have to get used to having doors closed in your face and keep it pushing. Just keep doing what you are doing and never stop because quitters never win and winners never quit.
I once heard someone say: “it takes 15 years of work for overnight success” so If my math is right, I only got 13 more to go!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The city of LA has tons of beautiful spots and activities and as a resident, and fan of this city, I love to play tour guide when my friends/family come visit. The gastronomy here is spectacular, there’s food for every pallet & from every culture so for sure some food stops will do. I love Sushi so Kazunori has become my second home and I take everyone I can. The Hollywood sign is a reminder of accomplished dreams for me so a picnic around it is always the vibe. The walk of fame, the amazing views from all different hikes that the city offers, beautiful scenery from the Getty Villa, outstanding art exposition in many museums, live music shows and most definitely drinks in WeHo I think make up for a great west coast experience.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate this shoutout all the powerful women that surround me, my beautiful mother, aunts, sisters and best friends (you know who you are). All of you ladies have motivated, inspired and helped in in ways that words aren’t enough to thank you for, you have believed in me and supported me in times where I need it most, give me perspective about life and art, always know what to say when I’m not feeling my best and ALWAYS keep it 100 with me. I’m incredibly grateful the amount of love I receive from you guys and thank you again because I wouldn’t be where I am today without ya’ll! LAS AMO.
