We had the good fortune of connecting with Chase Martinez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chase, why did you pursue a creative career?
I’d say maybe because I had this insane obsession with music. I’ve been singing for as long as I can remember and to be frank with you this is all I know. This is the only thing I’m really good at and it makes me really happy. So I’m hoping I can really manifest a long, happy and enjoyable music career for the years to come.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m hella grateful that I get to live my dream doing music but it wasn’t easy how I got here. Let me tell you a little bit about me.

Growing up Filipino in the UK was an interesting experience. Finding myself and my self identity was a challenge but it was very rewarding and when I discovered that music was what I wanted to do, nothing could’ve stopped me from doing it.
I left my parents home when I was 17 to pursue a music career. Couple of years later I was casted in a boyband where I had my first professional experience in the music industry. After the years of success with the band, I decided to part ways and work on my music. So then I decided to take one trip to Los Angeles to pursue my debut solo career which led me to talk with you & Shoutout LA Today!

As you can imagine, there was a lot of hardships, perseverance and I had to make some tough decisions but the other side of that was joyful and rewarding and no money can buy that experience! Right now I am still in the midst of making a name for myself here in LA so the fact that I’m here talking about it with you shows me that I’m on the right path.

I may not know what lies ahead. All I know is I’ll never EVER give up, I’ll persevere and keep moving forward.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I haven’t been in the city long but so far I have to say I love The City Walk where there’s AMC Cinema & Universal Studios! It’s an amazing place in my opinion, there’s so much depth and it’s just colorful! I’ve taken my friends who visited LA recently! It’s one hell of a vibe!

Next to the is probably Santa Monica Beach! The beach itself is beautiful and the pier is something else! Highly recommend!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to give a huge shoutout to my family who’s been there for me since day 1. Shoutout to CMI Management for looking after me, nurturing me and supporting my goals and vision. Lastly big shoutout to all my fans and supporters for all their continuous support throughout the years!
