We had the good fortune of connecting with Jadon Gauthier and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jadon, we’d love to hear more about your end-goal, professionally.
Entertain, Encourage, Enlighten and Excite

Storytelling and consuming stories is core to humankind and I think filmmakers, artists, musicians, etc have an incredible opportunity to use their gifts in ways that build up people’s hearts and souls. I want to create content, events or art of any form as long the story or experience is that can really captivate and entertain people and leaves them either more entertained, enlightened, encouraged or excited than when they started.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
First, thank you so much for reaching out and featuring me on Shoutlout LA! I’ve been following y’all for a while so it’s really great to connect!!

Let’s start with projects I’m proud of and that I hope readers may enjoy.

Below is a film that I directed for Turkish Airlines. It features my buddy, social wizard Zach King, and an awesome rising actor, JJ Carroll as two friends that race through the Istanbul Airport to win the coveted window seat. We filmed for a week on location in Turkey. I’d love to do more work like this!

Another that comes to mind is a video I produced/directed for Universal Pictures to promote Jurassic World: Dominion featuring comedian/paleontologist Eliza Peterson and the Jurassic World cast.

For “what sets me apart,” I don’t know if this sets me apart from others, but I think two of my greatest strengths are: one, approaching creativity and work with a heart of gratitude. I think that helps really fuel your spirit and reminds you that your gifts aren’t supposed to be used just for you.
And two, I am very grateful that I have a wild, crazy childlike joy, imagination, and hopefully, heart. And I do my best to combine that child spirit with as much sharpened vision and long term strategy to work towards creating things that’ll impact people in positive ways and evoke wonder in people.

In terms of career journey, it’s been sort of unconventional, but most people’s stories are that way. I went to film school (shoutout Biola!) and when I graduated I got a part time job at a social media marketing company before taking on a role in Indonesia for a TV production house. I was supposed to be in Indo only six months, but two days before my flight, the company told me they’d only cover my flights and housing if I stayed for a year… I didn’t have another job lined up, of course, so of course I stayed! When I returned back to the states, my film school buddy Zach King asked meto join King Studio – which was an incredible experience to be there from the beginning of his brand and studio and co-create so fun and wonder-filled stories together. . So under my current WonderBox banner, with my own original concepts and some partnered with other creators, we are building up original stories and worlds to sell or produce that will work “tradigitally” across traditional outlets in film & TV and viral & digital realms.

It’s been a wild journey – and I’m gonna keep creating! Either with building my own company or creating for an agency and studio because I really love those big team atmospheres as well.

I’d say the greatest lessons have been: chase God, serve others, be kind, dream big, and aim to create things that can positively impact culture and people.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
For dining, we’d go to Korean BBQ, Indian buffet or Pho. Easy choice. For hang out, Disneyland is high up on the list, as well the Farmer’s Market at the Grove or one of the beaches like Newport and Laguna
And last, anywhere that gives us a view of the city lights at night. Absolutely incredible.
