We had the good fortune of connecting with Meghan Carrasquillo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Meghan, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Without taking big risk you’ll never get to experience big change. At least that’s what I’ve always told myself. I see taking risks as a positive. If I didn’t feel nervous about taking the kind of risks that I do as a filmmaker, then I wouldn’t think I was as passionate about my craft as I”d like to be. Thankfully, I cherish and appreciate the doors that can open for you as much as the doors that can close with every risk you take. It can all lead you to the next best thing in life.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I believe as artists, some of us will carry some kind of “it” factor that separates us from all the rest. I believe my work ethic has helped set me apart from others. I’ve grown up believing “I’m going to be the hardest worker in the room.” The train is always moving and I want to be on it. I’m incredibly proud of a few movie projects that haven’t been released yet, which makes me the most excited for because people are going to get to experience them really soon. It definitely hasn’t always been an easy road to get to where I am professionally but it’s all apart of the journey. With every challenge, brings a new discovery. It’s all about perception, patience, and persistence. Remember that! I have grown so much as an actor and even as a person in general over the years. I find myself becoming more and more seasoned in my craft with acting and as a filmmaker in general.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If it’s only for a week then we better get started as soon as they land! I would definitely take them to one of my favorite breakfast/lunch spots, Dialogue Cafe! They have the best breakfast burritos. Some of my favorite places to hang happen to be outdoors which LA is known for. Whether it’s jumping in the ocean at Malibu beach, soaking in the city lights on the Mulholland scenic overlook, or going for a beautiful mountain hike in the LA National forest, I’m DOWN for it all. I also love doing escape rooms, playing pool and going to the movie theaters!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I wouldn’t be where I am today without my parents Celeste and Ray Carrasquillo. The love we all share is endless. They have created the perfect balance of being my biggest support system in anything that I choose to do while also being the best mentors. They were the first ones to truly believe in me. Whether it was driving me to rehearsals, flying me out for auditions, or helping me pick the best headshots, they did it all. Not to mention they did all of that while also helping me with homework and just enjoying life as being a kid.
