Meet Michael “JOVO” Jovanovski | Actor | Producer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Michael “JOVO” Jovanovski and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Michael “JOVO”, what do you want people to remember about you?
I want my legacy to be of ingenuity. I want people to remember my smile, my kindness and my striving for greatness and evolution.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Ok. Sure. I’m a SAG actor and producer. What sets me apart from other actors is that soon, hopefully this week, I will have dual citizenship and be able to work on both sides of the U.S./Canada border. I’m a Macedonian Canadian male actor. I’m pretty sure there are not very many, if any Macedonian male actors in Hollywood.

I am most proud of helping to raise a beautiful, smart, compassionate young woman.

I am most excited for this upcoming Major Car brand commercial I am currently on hold for.

I got to where I am today, because I never lost hope and faith in my dream. My focus, persistence and perseverance have got me to Hollywood.

Haha…Easy? Ah, no. After a divorce, leaving behind a great paying career, our daughter in another country, moving during a pandemic and then surviving a 7.5 month strike. Does that count?
Oh. Did I mention I gave up a great paying job to be humbled in Hollywood.

The lessons I learned along the way are that big goals, greatness and success take time, patience and a relentless passion, commitment and a desire to constantly improve and evolve. Being a nice person and building relationships helps.

I want the world to know about my brand and story is that I’m here to inspire. I’m on the back 9 of my life and I feel like I’m just getting started. It is never too late to change careers and go for after your dreams.

As for Hollywood, my brand is villain, mobster, cop and dysfunctional male. I love digging into that part of my persona to project onto the screen.
Being a bad guy is fun.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Hmm…that’s tough. There is so much to see and do here in LA and surrounding areas. Ok. Let’s start. First I would obviously hit all the touristy stuff day 1. Hollywood blvd. Hollywood sign. Griffith’s observatory. Grab brunch and a $5 mimosa from Mel’s Diner. Quick zip up the Silver lake steps and grab a coffee and a slice of coconut creme pie at house of pies in Los Feliz. Day 1 done! Day 2 breakfast at Fig cafe in Venice. Walk the boardwalk to Santa Monica. Grab a coffee at the Hotel Casa Del Mar and enjoy the view. Walk back to Venice, shop on Abbot Kinney and have dinner at Farmer’s Daughter. Day 2, done.
Day 3 Hit the 405-10 and go downtown. Check out the last book store, take the Angel’s of Flight train/LaLaLand famous. Grab a few tacos and a cerveza at the Grand Market. Hit one or 2 of the museums. Broad/Moma/Geffen etc. Dinner at Perch.
Day 4 Let’s spend the day in Pasadena. Check out the Rosebowl. Old Pasadena. Grab some delicious food, live music and pizza at Rocco’s tavern.
Day 5 Head to San Diego early. Avoid the traffic. Check out the coast line. Little Italy, the stadiums, walk the park/piers. Eat some yummy Italian food. Enjoy the views, stadiums, watch the planes over head downtown. Slowly meander back up the coast and hit Laguna beach.
Day 6 K town/Korean BBQ and Karaoke
Day 7 Highland Park and Atwater Village
I think that’s a fun fast and furious first trip.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My shoutout goes to my wifey. She is not only my best friend, partner and compass, she is also a beautiful, smart, talented and selfless woman. She is a boss lady, a great mother, an inspiration and such a creative spirit who gives her time to so many. I would not be in LA or pursuing this amazing and challenging career without her love, support and dedication. I love you my Queen. @rosannekangjovanovski
