We had the good fortune of connecting with Eden Shimon and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Eden, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
I believe that the most important factor behind my success is who I am as a person and my energy. I get that a lot that one of the main reasons of me getting booked is because I’m a trust worthy person and I have good energy that people like to be around, which is also why all artists feel comfortable next to me and it’s something very important on a job.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?

I am a professional dancer and choreographer from Israel. Music and dance has always been my favorite thing to do and the thing that I’m most passionate about. I’m very grateful to have a career in the thing that I love to do the most.
Dance was a hobby for me as a kid, but when I got older I got a dream job opportunity in another field, which required me to commit for at least six years. I knew that if I chose that job, I would have to quit dancing, and I knew that I would be so sad without it, so I said no to the job. Shortly after, I started flying  abroad often to get the best dance training I could, and worked hard to get better. By then I discovered the dance industry in Los Angeles, and I realized that this is my big dream.
Firstly, I worked super hard to build a huge career in Israel and I worked for a long time with the biggest artists there and got a lot of experience and respect in the industry. Just some of the artists I have worked extensively with are top Israeli artists like Noa Kirel, Anna Zak, Eden Elena, Omer Adam, and Netta Barilai performing in their national tours, television shows, commercials, music videos and/or numerous festivals and events. I also worked with the biggest choreographer in Israel, such as Mor Hamami and had basically achieved everything a dancer in Israel could wish to accomplish in their career.

After that, it was time for me to move to Los Angeles for my real dream.
I worked hard, went to the studio every day, and I got to achieve goals that I didn’t even imagine and I’m super proud of myself for making it happen for myself and by myself. For example, in Los Angeles, I was able to perform alongside the industry’s top artists including Nicki Minaj, Omarion, Becke G, and Bebe Rexha, to name a few, which are highly coveted opportunities that only a small percentage of dancers get to have on their resumes.

However, the hardest part about it is to live so far from my family which I’m close to. I feel like it’s a huge sacrifice that sometimes people are not aware of.
The lesson that I’ve learned along the way, is that no matter how competitive this world is, I always want to stay true to who I am as a person and my morals. I believe that good stuff happened to me because I’m a good person and I’ll always try to be a light to anyone that I meet along the way. I believe that being good and working hard is my king of way to success.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Actually, it’s a funny thing because everyone that comes to LA ask me those questions and then I’m realizing that all that I do mainly is taking dance classes whenever I have free time 🤣 . Dance is the reason that I moved here and I sacrificed so much to be here so I think this is why my main focus goes to that, but I promised myself to be better in living life and being around! Haha It’s also very exciting that in the dance world I get to meet so many people from all over the world and different cultures and it’s such a special and fun part of it.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to dedicate my shout out to Eden Shabtai who is my mentor and been guiding me since day one. She’s a big choreographer who’s done it all and believed in me from the beginning and helped me so much along the way. I appreciate her opinion and I’m very grateful to have her.
