There’s a ton of research around how setting habits can help us conserve energy because it reduces the number of decisions we have to make in a day. However, not all habits are created equal and so we’ve asked our community to tell us about the habits they have been most effective for them.

They always say to incorporate the question into the answer, so the best thing I can say is, I’m a creature of habit, so that helps me to succeed. I’ve had OCD since I was in elementary school, so as I got older, I tried to turn it into a positive trait instead of dwelling on it as a negative. I used it to make myself more organized, structured and efficient. I’m all about lists and schedules, so it helps me stay on track as the day goes along. Some people may call it being a type A personality, but it really helps me stick to my goals and accomplish short-term as well as long-term tasks. I tend to be repetitive with my routines in my personal life as well as the business side. Just persistence literally doing things over and over again… Never giving up being rejected at least 650 times out of 700 auditions in my life has set me up to be pretty good at handling rejection. Not taking things personally is one of the habits that I’ve integrated into my life, and continuing to just keep going no matter what, because you only fail if you quit. And eventually you will make it. It may not be exactly the way you thought it would be but it’ll be pretty close and it’s more about who you become on the journey rather than the destination anyway .
