Hi Laneya Christine, what role has risk played in your life or career?
The role risk taking has played in my career is really just going for an opportunity and not accepting the answer No. I’ve taken so many risks in my career just by being me and believing in myself no matter what. I’ve pushed myself to keep going and never stopping and having an amazing support system behind me cheering me on.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What i am most proud of is myself first and far most, I am proud of the fact that I am resilient that I’ve came this far and won’t stop nor give up. I feel like what sets me apart from others is the fact like i create and do my own thing without question like i just stay in my lane and create and always come up with new and better things. I’ve overcame a lot of obstacles by challenging myself to be better and create better as well but I always continue to push forward and trust the process and God. I learned so many lessons along my journey and 1 being is regardless of being copied continue to put your art out authentically no matter what because the right people will find the original artist. What i want the world to know about my brand and my story is I am bylaneyachristine this is my art and I and I create from the heart and with love. I have came along way, a girl that started at my mothers house and had a big dream and continuing to follow these big dreams. Everything piece of clothing I make is all handmade organically.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Honestly I’ve only been in California my entire life but i would love to travel across the country to new places in the future but i would take them to Palm Springs or San Francisco because it is very beautiful in those 2 places not to mention how beautiful the scenery is. I would also say Los Angeles as well because it’s a cool city to definitely try new places to eat, hangout, and get to know multiple people and different fun places.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Yes i would like to shout out everyone apart of my journey and has been apart such as my friends, family, and colleagues. And most important my dad and supporters that been with me from the very beginning.
