Meet Badmon Zae | Rapper

We had the good fortune of connecting with Badmon Zae and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Badmon, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I am from Houston, TX and my background and upbringing are the canvas that I put into my music. Everything good or bad is an experience I draw from. Not only musically but in daily life as well. All the values I learned growing up are still with me today.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am always trying to find new sounds my art is all about innovation. I am constantly trying to create new sounds and flows. I frequently try to use my voice as an instrument and not just as a vessel to deliver lyrics. I have upped my streams by ten times what they were last year and it was really a great confirmation that the hard work was paying off. In 2024 I am going to be releasing my first debut studio album with 1017BSM. I also have a single Dropping soon title “ODB” so be on the look out for that. I got to where I am in my career by constantly working because if you’re staying still you can’t move forward. It definitely wasn’t easy but worth every second. I pride myself on authenticity so everything that comes from.is real and authentic. I don’t participate in a false narratives. That’s the basis for my brand.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would definitely take them to a Venice or Santa Monica for the sights cause who doesn’t like the beach. I would definitely encourage them to get a cone from turndough those things are delicious. Funny enough one of my favorite spots to have a laid back good time is Harold’s on Hollywood blvd. The drinks and food are delicious. If you want soul food Doulans is the spot out here for sure! Honestly there is so much good food I could go on for days. As far as nightlife goes I love a good rooftop. Mama Shelter on Selma in Hollywood is a dope vibe. The bar on the walk in is really nice and the rooftop has a great ambience. They even offer a hotel so you don’t even have to leave if you book a room.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My manager princess Uchiha and of course my Mom who passed away because she is major part of who I have become. She always believed in and supported me through everything.
