“If you never quit, you never lose.” I’ve always found this quote to be profound because in many ways it is absolutely true. When you’re on a journey in life, sometimes quitting is the only way you lose. In sports it may be different, but when you’re pursuing a goal like music success, a degree, or mastering a new skill you only really lose when you quit. All the time that you spend pursuing the goal contributes to the 10,000 hours needed to master the skills you need to succeed. Read more>>

Many quotes have stood out to me over the years, but recently one has been on my mind a lot. “Don’t dig up in doubt what you planted in faith.” I’ve had a lot of changes over the past few years, mostly moving across country, and it has impacted the kind of work I make and how I make it. I’ve had a lot of self-doubt, which is something I think all artists and creatives deal with. So, the idea here is to trust yourself. Trust your judgement calls about projects you keep up with or ones you have to cut loose. Trust that the work you are doing now is going to bloom later down the road. “Better late than never.”
During my first year of high school, I heard this phrase from my math teacher, who was also my class teacher at the time. Although I was diligent and worked hard in high school, my grades were poor. Other students in the class were a level higher than me, and despite my efforts to catch up, it seemed unattainable. I felt disheartened and often thought about giving up. However, my class teacher noticed my attitude and called me to the office to counsel me earnestly. He said, “It’s like a race; if you’re one second behind, you won’t catch up all at once. It’s about gaining 0.1 seconds with each lap, and by the tenth lap, you’ll be on par with others. It may seem like a long process, but as long as you start chasing, you will get there.” I’ve remembered this phrase for a long time. Read more>>

” Memento mori, amor fati, carpe diem, totus tuis… Do all you can with what you have in the time you have left: Be kind, be cautious, be yourself, be your best self, be well” The quote is a compilation of quotes/axioms/maxims that I like and have as my primary catalytic statement. The first half are phrases in Latin that I have been taught through my mentors. Memento mori from the stoics means “remember you too will pass away”, not from a morbid standpoint but from a reminder to live your purpose with passion and integrity as you do your endeavors. Major in major things, the valuable essential few rather than the trivial many distractions as distraction can lead to destruction, Get on with it, it is later than you think. Read more>>
Not too long ago, I came across a quote that deeply resonated with me: “More is lost by indecision than the wrong decision.” This quote holds particular significance for me as I often find myself paralyzed by perfectionism and fear when faced with new challenges, such as beginning a new drawing on a blank canvas or taking on freelance work. However, upon reflection, I’ve come to realize that this quote carries an important lesson: it is far better to take the leap and embrace the opportunity to learn from mistakes. Each perceived misstep is simply another path leading us closer to our desired destination. Read more>>
